  1. thanks man, well explained :001_smile:
  2. Just wondering if anyone is still running a soft tether as apposed to a stiff tether? Or as a rule of thumb the stiff tether is far better?
  3. I am ashuming this is how you tip tie with an alpine butterfly and mallion
  4. I know what you mean, i look forward to gettin my head around smaller/ medium reduction. I topped a conifer hedge yestersdat where each tree i could get a good top anchor, worked from the top down skinning up the pole as no room to knock lumps out then free climbing back up with my chest harness clipped in so it selftends. So much less rope to deal with as apposed to drt
  5. I use the same but with a slighlty shallower gob. Really rate it
  6. Thinking one step ahead of each move so i can create the most effective route around the tree (reduction ) using redirects. Also using redirects near were im cutting so i have 0% chance of penderlum swing, on really big limb which is so much more comfortable and safe, also allows for better positioning. Will get climbing pictures in the future. Is awesomeee
  7. Going up and down for lunch was the best!
  8. First full srt reduction using a zk1 with soft tether, will get a zk2 very soon. Firstly were have you been all my life what a reduction tool srt is. Using redirects to help positioning and better anchoe points. Feel like ive found my srt brain. Eminating penderlum swing is one of my favorite parts, allows me to more around tips faster with less worry.
  9. I was under the impression that if you are self employed (Subby) you can only work for one company for 70% of the time? I cant find any written evidence of this on hmrc but its a damn complicated website. Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to the rules for the amount you can work for one company? Thanks Arran
  10. How are you setting up your final anchor with a mallion, im still on running bowline, behind the times ay
  11. ally gecko's with velco super comfy, in my airstream and even in my walking boots
  12. what are the big anchor ring uses dude?
  13. Making the transition to srt full time at the moment, trees im working on seem to be getting bigger and i spend most my time when climbing thinking, if i was on srt i could do it this way man that would be easy... doh. Just nice to see what you all carry on an average climb just for srt use, i know every tree is different and every job is different but roughly. Im currently at: 2 slings fig 8 hand ascender Not on my harness includes the obvious sling and krab for chest harness pantin Will be nice to see how much or how little people are taking up Arran

  15. looked like a lovely climb, bet you enjoyed every second
  16. Im no gear junkie, he climbs SRT. Ive got no thursting problems I love my blakes hitch
  17. without one you would have to footlock everwhere or have the strength of a bear and body thrust your own weight
  18. My 150 has had about 40 tanks now and hasnt had any of these problems yet, feww. Will keep an eye on it though, whenever i move around the tree i alway has it clipped up on my harness as a rule as it is used mostly for reductions which means im moving alot. My forearms and elbows love my 150
  19. Looks fun, might have to go and do on a prussik:thumbup:
