  1. Sweet dude not supprised everyone was very happy, did the tophandle come out on the larger trees or was it easier to have nothing hanging off you and move about quicker and use a silky? I know its personal preferance but just wonderingg
  2. Wicked job guys, really getting into my reductions at the moment. These look wicked, how many did u roughly get done a day if you remember ? Cheers arran
  3. I am back on blakes hitch and pulley saver, my favorite system so far. Learn to footlock that will save loads of energy or use ladders to get into the tree. Your back and arms will ache to start with, eat well sleep well and let muscles grow. Ive used the hitch climber with various knots and cords and still went back to blakes. The pulley saver is the biggest energy saver and routing your ropes properly
  4. Going to have to dirty them up now, cant deal with the tarty label.....
  5. £110 dude will try them out tomorrow afternoon. They sit a little lower on my shin and calf than my airstreams and will see how the grip is

  11. Ropes and cord go in the washing machine just on a 30 min wash no powder or anything , friction cord comes up like new its pretty astonishin. Check the weight limit of your washing machine mine moves around the kitchen when my ropes go in. Everything comes out in a massive knot but gleaming.

  17. dude, been there done that. When i turf everything out my ropebag so ropes can go in the washing machine its carnage. oil, twigs, ivy, sawdust, bark, bottle of water etcc...
  18. 200 isnt acturly mine, but I wont need to borrow it anymore just got the 150 and my 357 now
  19. New addition to the family, so light. Will be used tomorrow
  20. blakes and pulley saver are awesome but you cannot proper bang out of trees. perfect for work. hc is good on rec climbs and i will still bring it as you can fly out and around trees like a maniac. + only using marlow boa cord so I can just throw it away at the end of the day when its all shiney melted and black.
  21. Yes funny old progress really, ill try to explain now but will be easy to show on the rec climb why i think a blakes is better blakes vs hitchclimber 1) on ascent when using a hitch climber you ascend hand over hand then tend the slack or it self tends if your high enough. ascending hand overhand for me eliminates body thrusting so you are just using your arm muscles and no stomach muscles. On blakes you have to thrust using less arms and more stomach, meaning your arms and elbows do not get worked as much . 2) moving out to the tips of limbs its equal between the two 3) on a hitch climber you can pull slack out the line one handed which you cannot do on a blakes. So if you have a tricky limb walk back into the stem you cannot hold on to a branch and tend the line in one handed. Meaning on blakes you have balance alot better which isnt really a bad thing as it improves your balance and limb walks back in. 3) my blakes rarely jams up but a think that all comes down to the right cord and rope. same as your hitch. But you get no sit back or slipping or having to dress. 4) footlocking is faster on blakes for myself 5) I think a pulley saver and blakes are such a good combo. Its smooth in every sense for me. 6) less clutter and cheaper. probly missed loads of pros and cons etc. I still reckon im the same speed/ a little faster on a blakes rather than using a hitch climber whislt working.:001_smile:
  22. Will give it a look dude thanks
  23. Cant wait to move around the world with trees i need views like that in my life...
  24. Get an tree climbing harness, 35m rope, 2 prussik loops and 2 krabs, like said before some of the best climbers i know still use blakes/ prussik. No need to rush anything. Will climb with you on simons rec climb dude and have some fun hanging about. I went from hitch climber back to blakes and havent looked back
