  1. Slow to steady atm, after 43 years of it I feel it's time for a change, still love the soil and screening side of things and would like to scale that side up. Currently building a new screener I have designed so the less work I have the more time I can spend on that, and I enjoy engineering.
  2. Off topic I know but try bentonite powder and also look into colloidal silver.
  3. Being as I am moving the business in a different direction I am treating myself to a new mig welder, my old Murex trademig is about 25-30 years, so I can't say I haven't had my moneys worth out of it.
  4. Yes mate it is the general, They tried to send Mum home at 2am out of her head on Morphine because the doctor said she wasn't in pain, err I wonder why, after an argument with him they got another doctor who sent her for X-ray and scan and then put her on a ward. I have the Oaks to thank for the infection that nearly killed me , consultant was as arrogant as hell, as well as other things, Last time I spoke to them they had a longer waiting list for a ultrasound than the General, We use Nuffield now, who done the ultrasound the next morning, they don't take any NHS work. West Suffolk is one of the best hospitals in the country, you are lucky being able to use that, could they not have taken you to there instead of Colchester, can't be a lot in it?
  5. Our local main hospital is a disaster area, even the staff think it's going into melt down, there is so much building going on in the area, along with people having more health issues that it truly is bogged down, they have no room to expand because they sold a lot of their future expansion land for building, but they have room to have an M&S and Costa put in. We waited over 8 hours for an ambulance for my mum, my friends dad just broke his hip and he waited 5 hours for an ambulance, go in on foot and you are in for a hell of a wait. however we have 2 local hospitals with minor injuries units and they are absolutely superb, I had a piece taken out of my eye earlier this year and was in and out in 30 minutes, but the powers that be have been trying to shut them for years to save money, they actually need more people to use them to warrant them keeping them open. The local private hospital now takes on a lot of NHS paid patients, and the quality of that hospital is slowly sliding. We need education on diet and lifestyle, a health tax on fast food outlets, and a stop to some of the operations that are not essential or even necesary, a large proportion of the population are eating themselves into poor health, and that is putting a huge burdon on the NHS. We also have doctors prescribing drugs that really aren't necessary and they need re educating about it, the NHS keep going on about antibiotic over use, but people can't get them unless a doctor prescribes them. That said I had a new medical procedure (guinea pig) done a couple of years ago and couldn't fault the service I got. I think a lot depends on how busy they are at the time.
  6. So you pay greggs for a coffee for a homeless person to have ? Wow that's mighty generous of them.
  7. I had thought of that, it is an option but not sure how well I would get on with it. Over taking doesn't bother me as I rarely get a chance loaded at GTW, I was more concerned with the general feeling of being in the hedge A new LHD isn't that much more than that one on ebay.
  8. They can't actually do the RHD conversion, they have been saying for the last couple of years or more that they will be able to but it's increadibly expensive to do it properly.
  9. They are only available in LHD new I keep toying with the idea but doubt I could get on with a LHD towing all day
  10. My game has always been like that, it's a pain in the arse because you can never plan ahead too far.

I know it's not tree related but an effort well worth showing
  12. Might have a nice T6, T32 LWB high roof, high line, with 4x4 and diff locks coming up for sale soon The Transit custom hi roofs don't have a very good head hights inside, we looked at them and decided they would be crap as a camper.
  13. I have a T6 and if I could go back I would have found a decent late T4 or an early T5, the later transporters ain't that great on build quality imo.
  14. Goods not fit for purpose under the sale of goods act, it's pretty simple. If they don't want to refund then issue county court proceedings. They are only allowed to repair if you let them, once you do that it isn't so easy to get a refund.
  15. It's a bit specialist, every Tom, Dick and Harry hires out diggers, that's why they are cheap, I would think it's got to be at least around £130ish a day.
  16. Same here, the only reason I am still using the 130 landy is there is nothing else with a 7000kg train weight. I was hoping when the V6 Amorok came out it was going to be near that but instead they made it less. The only truck that I can find that comes close is the 4x4 Iveco but it's truck payload is not as good as the Landy, I was going to order one but the dealer couldn't get a demo vehicle, and at the price it was I wasn't prepared to take a chance that I would like it.
  17. The Amorok has the lowest legal towing capacity out there in the 4x4 truck market. Stupidly the V6 has lower towing capacity that the lower powered version.
  18. The old one was Merc based, this new one isn't, I believe it's their own. I was going to demo one but the dealer won't fit a towbar to the demo truck, that speaks volumes for me. Also been warned about the price of parts.
  19. 3500kg is only with the auto, also read a review somewhere and it wasn't rated that great a tow truck but was very juicy towing, iirc it averaged 18mpg and that was with only 2800kg behind it. It isn't as fugly as the previous version but it isn't far short.
  20. If it's only 40 tons make up a frame from 4x4 fence posts, if you do it right you need 8 posts 8 foot long, 2 sheets of ply, 5 lenths cls timber and 2 of 1"x1" 10 gauge mesh sheets from FH brundle, costs about £200 and will last years, we have thrown hundereds of ton over similar before we went over to the proper screeners, I will see if I still have some photos. We hire out screeners but the cost wouldn't be viable for 40 ton.
  21. Very How dare you expect decent money.
  22. In all seriousness, Bill should know by now mate so I know it will be fine. Really must call in and see him some time, seems i'm always in a mad rush when i'm out that way
  23. Little and none ? I shall arrange a public flogging
  24. In fairness to him, we don't know why he cancelled, but he did have the decency to let you know, an awfull lot of people can't even be arsed to do that now days. At least you are sorted now, saying that have you seen Billy's turf laying
