Out of interest how reliable has the inverter been ? I went for a Victron, based on the fact I have used Victron stuff for several years on different boat setups and they have been faultless, but these new Multiplus 2 units that have replaced the old inverter/chargers appear to be having a few issues. Victron have already had to replace a Cerbo unit that blew whilst on test.

Also the place in Chapel but can't remember the name of them.

We have kept them on and off for years. Currently have 6 laying I would recommend looking at plastic coupes as you will get less trouble with mites. Yes they can be messy but well worth it, the eggs are so much nicer. We have also kept ducks for their eggs, but they really are bloody messy things.

Is anyone ?

Not a good time to be buying a secondhand vehicle of any type, prices are mental atm.

He's a very clever and exceedingly dangerous cnut imo I read somewhere a whole load of changes to planning rules were snuck through whilst all this crap has been going on.

What I find bothering about this is that had this not come to light he would have happily carried on with what I am sure would have been a completely unbiased investigation

I have the big 2000+Nm Milwaukee impact wrench, great tool but the body might as well be made of foam, very poor quality.

That is a mad price. Someone who understands Victron kit properly is a problem I have had, you can do their online courses for free if you want to learn how to set them up properly yourself.

Couldn't agree more, obviously we have to make some changes, simple things like washing machine on during the day if it's a nice day, but we have used meters of varying types to work out the night and day time inverter size we need, 8kva more than covers us, the battery inverter has a surge of 15kva, beyond that the genny will fire up automatically. I expect quite a few blackouts until it's all running properly

Never trust a salesman Paper based and also from experience with other Victron kit. The only thing I have ever had to do with my boat setup is check batteries, although a lot smaller system it's just scaled up here.

An off grid setup if set up properly should only need the batteries topping up monthly and a quick check over everything, everything else should be automatically done, and that with auto top up is a 5 minute job. Probably like a lot of things the technology has advanced and newer kit is capable of doing most of it.

I wish we could use a turbine here, but since they decided to build houses all around use it wouldn't be practical

I will not be feeding back to the grid it's now 11p kwh and not worth it, plus finding a sparks who properly understands setting up the charger/inverter around here is proving to be a major task so I'm doing the Victron online courses to do it myself. as we progress we will be using a water heating system as a way of storing excess generated power, it works by pushing any excess from 100watts/h to 6kwh to a couple of immersion heaters. One thing you need to do is look very carefully at your electric usage, you cant expect to supply the same as you currently use, things like cooking in a different way, my wife has been excellent in looking at ways to save energy there, pressure cooking saves a fair amount of power, our dehumidifiers which we really didn't want to not use have been swapped for high energy efficiency ones that use a quarter of the power. I have now fitted most of the DC inverter side up. It's been a very interesting project so far. and at current electricity usage rates and cost per kwh and system cost it's about an 8 year payback, and virtually every major component in the system has a 25 year warranty. Another reason we went for it is I have a solar system on my boat and since fitting it we have never needed shore power, and it was that that got me really interested in it.

interested to know why you have had so many problems, do you have to rely on the gennies for when it's dark ?

I am currently doing exactly that. Apart from electricity madly going up. the plans of Boris to do away with petrol and diesel cars and replace them with electric that we don't have the infrastructure to supply I see huge problems in the pipeline so thought it would be a wise time to set it all up. We will be having 14kw of panels, connected to an AC inverter that will supply during the day and charge a 48v 930 amp wet cell battery bank, then at night a Victron 8kva inverter will supply our needs, that is all backed up with a 13kva single phase genny which should only need to fire up every few days during December, January and February. Only issue I could see with your setup as it's what I originally planned would be switching from 3 phase to single, I was going to do that but it meant either a setup even more complex than it already is, or working out some way of auto switching the genny from single to 3 phase, or doing it manually, also several generator manufacturers weren't interested in supplying a single/3 phase generator as the change over switches can be unreliable apparently. I settled keeping it single phase but will end up with a lot of kva with the inverter and genny able to supply together. I hope I have got everything in our setup right

That should have had warning buzzer in cab or flashing light on the crane to warn the driver the leg was out to stop that sort of thing happening. Very sad.

I would like to think that other prisoners will make sure the rest of their lives is lived in pain, fear and misery. Horrendous scum. I saw some government minister on TV last night trying to defend social services as usual. And yet again I am sure no one will ultimately take the blame and face a criminal prosecution.

HD suspension was not standard on 110 Hi-Cap's, it was an option when purchased from new, and if ordered put the truck up to 3500kg GVW

A decent strongly built engine for towing but full up at 7000kg they struggle and that's with the low ratio transfer box, I have had the full width intercooler and VNT turbo but removed them, I found the VNT pretty unreliable and after the second one failed I removed that and put the standard back on, the Allisport full width intercooler was OK but shook one of it's mountings out so I removed that in the end. I felt that all those mods just put the engine under more strain. Although it's a ploder without those bits it gets the job done, the only thing I have now is adjusted the boost pin.

If it's the cast iron plate I found those lugs snap off when you try to remove the plate if it's a few years old.
