  1. Yes it is. Small patch of sapwood in front middle gives it away. Hard to grain match burry wood. Lovely table though
  2. Good point. Can't help you then. Air dried only for me What you needing it for?
  3. Good one.
  4. Shouldn't speak for him but that top is made of 3 boards so wouldn't need a huge planer. Just a careful glue up and some sanding.
  5. You want it green or seasoned?
  6. Yes they said one red and one green Thanks
  7. Brother in law had these maples down and asked me if I wanted the wood. 2 trees that look the same to me but they think that had different colour foliage. One is much bigger than the other. First two pics are the smaller one.
  8. Best wishes Mark. Be lucky.
  9. Your weights are out. If they were correct both pine and beech would sink in water which they don't. 1m3 of water weighs 1tonne so 1m3 of wood that floats must weigh less.
  10. Had a free morning and friend wanted some cedar so we milled up this one I've had a while 2.5m long 800 wide.
  11. Look like cracking little boards. Well done
  12. Was a nice surprise tree. Some slabs would of been nice but unfortunately I didnt have my slabber with me , and I wanted to seize the opportunity to get it milled. Last brown oak i did was full of pin hole borer holes and was disappointing. No plans for it. I will just let it dry and see what happens. Sell it or use it.
  13. Treated it with boron just to make sure I don't get any nasties in it.
  14. Here are the boards
  15. Did 3 days cutting oak cladding for a customer and finished early on the third day. They had a brown oak they didn't want so I knocked a bit of money off the bill, milled it up and brought it home. Really nice colour but photo doesn't show it. No insect attack at all. One corner had some rot but not too much. A couple of soft patches else where. Will treat and stack tomorrow and take a couple of pics of the boards.
  16. Trust insurance are good
  17. Did this one earlier in the week. 4ft diameter. Been left about 2 years apparently. Spalted nicely but It would of started going mushy if left any longer. Loads of metal in it too. Picture of the two biggest bits which both came out of he same whole. Had a stone lodged in the middle as well which means I now have to file a bit more than half the tooth off one of my chains to get it back.
  18. Nice. Is that a model 6. If so what's the max width/ length of cut? Cheers
  19. A good glug has always done for me.
  20. I'm sure I've got some stuff. Where abouts are you?
  21. If you need it milled I can do if for you. What's the access like?
  22. My dad bought one of these last year. Can't fault it for the money and has split everything we have thrown at it. Easy to move around and road towable. Needs a light board though. http://www.rockmachinery.co.uk/product/20ton-dual-action-log-splitter/
  23. I've made gaskets out of the paper envelope type folders when I had nothing better to hand
  24. If you use thin nuts, you can put two on the back as a lock nut so you can turn it loose.
  25. Looks like yew to me
