I got out fine, needed to take a heavy trailer out which gave some trouble.... Ended up tying the trailer on with my "tree-pulling-over rope" (25mm 15t safe load) and a lot of slack to get some speed on the landy before it took the strain. Even then it took a lot of trying!

Cheers, it's an S reg. EGR will be dealt with appropriately... Diff lock light used to work, then stayed on sometimes, now does not come on at all. Was mildly worried it was actuator operated and not working. I've been ploughing through some heavy clay with a heavy trailer and desperate for traction... Hi, I use a defender 90 (it's not mine, I use it in winter, the owner in summer). And was wondering about a few things... How do I know wether it's a 200 or 300 tdi? It has an EGR-valve, do these cause the same issues on a landrover as they do in many cars (coking up of inlet tracts following on from it, thus severely hampering airflow) and does simply disconnecting the plug on it leave it permanently shut? How is the diff lock operated? And would the fact the light on the dash does not come on be indicative of diff issues or dash issues? I cut, split and put them in homemade wire cages (a pallet with a circle of stock wire stapled to it, logs will not fall out, even though the gaps are quite big, I make them two rounds of wire high=about 7'). Then I cover the top with "top-tex" which is a breathable felt-like cover that allows the air through but no rain in. I do make sure the very top is sloping to the sides a bit. It gives me stacks of 2 m2 so I can instantly see how much there is, can be moved with a forklift/tractor and emptied by hand easily as well, just open up the wire (contrary to instincts again, logs will not all come tumbling out) Then I stack in my wood store against the house which holds about 4cube= 4 weeks, so I make sure there's always wood enough for two to four weeks in there so it sits there for two weeks minimum to dry out any logs from the edges if needed. I did mine without lessons and past first time, but I am pretty awesome! I also had the advantage of having had the full LGV training a couple of years previous so all the info about the little thing examiners like was still fairly fresh. As far as my experience goes it will not stop deer, they'll just eat it a little later... The re growth will be fairly useless either way, as if it does grow through the wigwam it'll be bent and twisted for having had to wind through it. Like it. I'm not sure I'm qualified to give tips, but here's a few things I do different: I'd mill that piece away from the camera as it was there, looked like most of the dust was getting blown back at you. I put a big peg-like clamp with some rubber on it on the throttle, gives me the freedom to hold/push the mill where I want to. I put my wedges either on the wood near the ends, or in between the rails of the mill so I can put them in without stopping the milling (just keep it moving slowly as I find stopping and starting again causes extra scoring). I push on the back rail as the mill gets to the end, to keep the mill flat as it comes out. Oh, and be aware, this milling lark is highly addictive... I think lpx has a bumper on the link before the cutter as well as a bumper attached to the cutter. Lgx has only got the bumper attached to the cutter. Just buy a stihl chain without the annoying extra bumper-bull!

No it doesn't! Gay means jolly, merry, happy and can be used (mildly offensive to some) to describe homosexual. Don't demean yourself and a large portion of society by using it as a derogatory term, I (and many others) find it highly and unnecessarily offensive. There's plenty of other words at your disposal to say crap, like....crap?

Saw your vid the other day, well explained. I did wonder why you did not follow the instructions? They say to adjust the height until the wheel is just at the top of the leading edge of cutter, and then adjust the height down using the increments marked on the height adjusting wheel?
