  1. This any use? http://www.2shared.com/document/Ky3oOjOz/Ditch_Witch_MX15_Mini_Excavato.html
  2. Thanks Apart from the snazzy looking website, I can't find anything relating to its use or retailers in the UK? Have you used this stuff, or k is where to get it? Thanks, Daniel.
  3. Hi all, I've a few acres of wood to plant for a client, site is grass now and he's dead keen on not spraying it off, not overly keen on acres of mypex either.... He does want his trees to grow as fast as possible though, hence the question: is there a biodegradable sheet mulch available, and where?
  4. The comment you refer to, and your presumption are both wrong. The statement was: that you'd have to eat between 500 and 600 burgers daily, made from 100% horse, 100% of which had been treated with bute to come near the dose prescribed to humans. The humans the drug was (and still is for some rare diseases) prescribed to were not healthy, and the severe side-effects experienced by a small proportion of those taking the medicine happened in people who were quite unwell to start with. They've never tested the effects of this drug on people who are 100% healthy as it has known potentially severe side-effects. Testing a drug like that with no potential positive outcome serves no scientifically justifiable ethical purpose. Personally I'm more worried about the animal welfare issues. If the origins of meat are not known, there is no chance of any control of welfare standards. As far as the consumers go, pay an honest price for an honest product! 5. This image from Madsens should describe clearly I think. It should not be a problem when using the correct size file though, unless you're doing that square grind thing our colonial cousins across the pond are so fond off?

  7. It has the black soundproofing cover, so signs seem to point to 300? I'll have a play over the weekend to see if the lock actually comes on or not. Thanks, Daniel.
  8. I got out fine, needed to take a heavy trailer out which gave some trouble.... Ended up tying the trailer on with my "tree-pulling-over rope" (25mm 15t safe load) and a lot of slack to get some speed on the landy before it took the strain. Even then it took a lot of trying!
  9. Cheers, it's an S reg. EGR will be dealt with appropriately... Diff lock light used to work, then stayed on sometimes, now does not come on at all. Was mildly worried it was actuator operated and not working. I've been ploughing through some heavy clay with a heavy trailer and desperate for traction... 10. I've twin daughters..... Double barrel is the first thing that sprang to mind when I found out! "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  11. The stick moves easily, if that's any indication? "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  12. Mud... It got far worse/wetter after that, but no pics "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  13. Hi, I use a defender 90 (it's not mine, I use it in winter, the owner in summer). And was wondering about a few things... How do I know wether it's a 200 or 300 tdi? It has an EGR-valve, do these cause the same issues on a landrover as they do in many cars (coking up of inlet tracts following on from it, thus severely hampering airflow) and does simply disconnecting the plug on it leave it permanently shut? How is the diff lock operated? And would the fact the light on the dash does not come on be indicative of diff issues or dash issues? I know answers to these question could be found elsewhere but I know how many of you like your landy's. Cheers, Daniel. "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." 14. This trailer is rated at: Erm, 750kgs, I think there was about 2.5 tonnes on.... "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.

  16. I cut, split and put them in homemade wire cages (a pallet with a circle of stock wire stapled to it, logs will not fall out, even though the gaps are quite big, I make them two rounds of wire high=about 7'). Then I cover the top with "top-tex" which is a breathable felt-like cover that allows the air through but no rain in. I do make sure the very top is sloping to the sides a bit. It gives me stacks of 2 m2 so I can instantly see how much there is, can be moved with a forklift/tractor and emptied by hand easily as well, just open up the wire (contrary to instincts again, logs will not all come tumbling out) Then I stack in my wood store against the house which holds about 4cube= 4 weeks, so I make sure there's always wood enough for two to four weeks in there so it sits there for two weeks minimum to dry out any logs from the edges if needed. Simple cheap and neat. Daniel. "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  17. I presume 12 delivered means 12x5L=60L? Which makes £3.67/L delivered. "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  18. What size chain is it, and what size file are you using on it? "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  19. No, and I'm fairly certain it never was either. "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  20. I did mine without lessons and past first time, but I am pretty awesome! I also had the advantage of having had the full LGV training a couple of years previous so all the info about the little thing examiners like was still fairly fresh. I don't think I'd have passed straight after passing my car license. "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Farm as though you'll farm forever." Stephen Briggs.
  21. As far as my experience goes it will not stop deer, they'll just eat it a little later... The re growth will be fairly useless either way, as if it does grow through the wigwam it'll be bent and twisted for having had to wind through it. 22. Like it. I'm not sure I'm qualified to give tips, but here's a few things I do different: I'd mill that piece away from the camera as it was there, looked like most of the dust was getting blown back at you. I put a big peg-like clamp with some rubber on it on the throttle, gives me the freedom to hold/push the mill where I want to. I put my wedges either on the wood near the ends, or in between the rails of the mill so I can put them in without stopping the milling (just keep it moving slowly as I find stopping and starting again causes extra scoring). I push on the back rail as the mill gets to the end, to keep the mill flat as it comes out. Oh, and be aware, this milling lark is highly addictive... 23. Well done on getting an 070 with bar for £90! Not close enough to you, sorry.

    Oregon lgx

I think lpx has a bumper on the link before the cutter as well as a bumper attached to the cutter. Lgx has only got the bumper attached to the cutter. Just buy a stihl chain without the annoying extra bumper-bull!
  25. Did you buy this machine? I seem to remember one of these for sale, but it was stuck in a bog, just wondered if this is that one? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
