  1. No No No Yes
  2. Thanks for the update.
  3. I have a similar view here in Lincs. I'm happy though, as I put 10 acres of grass seed out yesterday. I can almost hear it growing!
  4. Essex is closer than Hampshire... If you've binder-sized stuff for sale, pm me with price and availability please. Thanks.
  5. Whats the intended application? What sort of weight do you need to move, will you need to carry the winch far from the vehicle, how often will you use it etc.
  6. All my hedgelaying hazel comes from south-west Hampshire. Bristol may actually be closer...
  7. (Am on the phone so cannot see location)
  8. I could travel if need be, where is it/ are you?
  9. Bumpety bump! Anyone?
  10. Lovely place to visit, but like you I've found a lack of information on the trees. Walking towards the farm-bit (which I feel is a huge wasted opportunity to be at the forefront of modern farming, hand in hand with historical buildings) there's a huge amount of differing species and indeed lots of walnuts, but no signage of nuffink!
  11. Hello people, I'm after a trailer load or so of hazel or willow. I'd prefer hazel. It needs to be "binder-size" so 1" to 2" bottom dia, 12' to 15' ish sort of stuff. I've a few fences to create for people and normally keep a pile of binders from winter to use up through summer but I've just a handful left. I'd prefer it delivered to NG34 0AH if at all possible but I suppose I could collect. Pm me or phone, 07 889 774 773 Cheers, Daniel
  12. That reads like it should be on a different forum? Or perhaps the "lonely arbs" column? South Lincs, half stihl half husky.
  13. Played with my wee ms180, for one job only. To cut the tops of stakes off when hedgelaying, I do them all in one go when I'm finished normally. Quite simple, but very effective. Standard: Not standard:
  14. Post number 201 and a few after that... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=53672
  15. Make the front and back have a high point in the middle, have a fitted tarp then take a stiff tube slightly longer than your box fitted in the middle of the tarp. Use a cranking handle to turn the tube and roll the tarp off all at once, use a tugstring to unroll and re-cover the whole thing again. a bit like this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPZWJhnpVpo]How to operate the Roll Over Sheet on a Larrington Majestic Agricultural Trailer - YouTube[/ame]
  16. Was this one I presume? http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=57329
  17. But buddy, if you phone a decent dealer on Monday lunchtime, I'll have a buddy with a saw in a box at my door on Tuesday morning...
  18. Pm me in 4 or 5 years time, I'll take a picture of the bit on tillering...
  19. I don't quite understand the following bit: You "won" a rubbish saw, then when you collected it it was in bits and then wouldn't run right, and you still paid for it? Tell eBay it's shite, make them take it back! Then keep saving some money and buy a half-decent saw. (A good silky is a very good investment)
  20. Not good news Andy. I often comfort myself with the statistic that weave in a very low crime county, but that's a bit close... Give that dog some steak for dinner!
  21. This HSE document has a list of the varying effects differing species of wood-dust etc can have on people (seems like nothing is safe, wood is out to get you!) but for CoL it doesn't state headaches? http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/wis30.pdf Found some references to other articles suggesting it was used to treat headaches and one vague reference suggests crushing the bark releases oils that can cause headaches.
  22. They're a company from near here, and there ain't no slopes to reverse up around here!
  23. You'll want to cut or cleave the blanks, so you have staves of both heart and sapwood. The bow will need the heartwood for strength but the sapwood is much "springier". Then season them for at least four years.... No hasty business this war faring lark.
  24. I believe import duty would be 2.7%, then theres 20% vat to add, and the courier will add some 10% as well. So it may be cheaper...
