  1. But then, hawthorn is very dense and heavy. (It sinks when green) And the bark is too papery and flaky.
  2. Thanks I was thinking 50, so that's what I will stick with.
  3. Hi I've been offered an 024, haven't been able to run it, but feels like good compression. No other info, no returns. What would it be worth ish?
  4. You won't need to. If you look carefully, there's a line set up already[emoji3]
  5. That was then, this is now. No modern car kits use an external aerial, all rely on the phone itself.
  6. Eucalyptus regnans, the world's tallest hardwood tree. Currently the record holder (and the whole top 20 or so) grows in Tasmania, but there's evidence the trees of Victoria were much bigger yet, but weren't measured by the colonial invaders that felled them. The lowest branch on this one for example is at 42m/135ft.....
  7. This So when one of your buddies posted a video stating "a Muslim immigrant beating up a person on crutches" thats where the truth got bent. When I say bent, I meant broken, buggered beyond belief for the sole purpose of perpetuating the atmosphere of hatred that the pondslime feeds on. Facts. A person on crutches got beaten up. The aggressor was Dutch, his parents are Dutch, so are his grandparents... For the president (you know the one that shouts about fake news so much) of the USA to retweet such a thing without getting anywhere near the truth, then criticise another head of state for reminding him he's being a knob is as far from speaking the truth as you can get.
  8. It was the same here. You need to login again, then all will be well. At least, this worked for me.
  9. The fins are an addition. Husqvarna needed a saw to compete with every single Stihl model. Rather than build a new saw, they took the 372 and restricted it. The fins are very easy to remove with a Dremel type tool. If you're worried about the casting under the fins, you could always leave them as little ridges. Though imo the fins actually make the part weaker by creating a sticky out lever.
  10. Well, first of all I would not mill large limbs... If you think of the position it was in when the tree was upright, and the amount of tension it was in to counteract gravity you can imagine the amount of movement you can expect when drying.
  11. Hmmm What machine are we talking about Mr Egg?
  12. It should still cut fine. Seems to be the preferred angle by some, so you may even like it more? I'd just make a few cuts and see how she goes.
  13. A strap mount with a spring to allow for expansion seems the easiest option? I don't think there is a need to do any damage at all just to mount a camera, so therefore any damage done could be seen as wilful?
  14. I don't think europe has been divided in climate regions (presumably region 6 is a climate zone?) like that? "Region 6" means nothing to me, where in the us are you? what sort of weather do you get?
  15. Quite scary. They didn't start capturing data till 89 (?) So it's quite likely far worse than the data suggests. By then pesticides of hardcore variaties had been in widespread use for decades!
  16. Eucs have evolved to not just have the ability to survive fire, they need it to make their seeds germinate. Presumably they're trying to knock out any competition and at the same time get the ability to expand their business? OP, my commiserations. It's the stuff of nightmares to have your life so rocked.
  17. This is already so. On a strong enough vehicle equipped with the appropriate braking system you are allowed to tow more than 3.5t. Any trailer over 3.5t already needs an mot. IMHO the rules are fine as they are. The trailer weight limit is dictated by the brakes. If you use better (air) brakes, you can tow more.
  18. Not a good idea, in my opinion! It means you're essentially attaching the lever in a way that might mean it can not be removed instantly. A normally functioning bar will only grip one way so when said hanger rolls away the bar will just fall off.
  19. If you put neat petrol in a saw, it'll run for a good while before it seizes. Maybe half a tank or so, but certainly not instantly. Sounds like you're being shafted.
  20. He's surrounded by the French... He's already there![emoji1]
  21. Use a router. It's easy to do, can get really good results, the size of timber you can flatten is unlimited and it requires no special tools (other than the router) If you have a look on YouTube for "slab wood router" or similar, you'll find lots of videos that can show you how. There's a video by "the samurai carpenter" that explains the whole process reasonably well.
  22. I'd say 25/t if you have to go find some wood in a field that's been down for over a year and getting in the way
