I've never had this on arbtalk (it happens on some other sites I occasionally visit for "research" purposes...) Using Chrome, turned off all my add-blockers, pop-up blockers etc. Using a chromebook so no added AV programs are running, can't get this to happen.

Has gone back to normal now, after holding some coffee near the 'pooter. Must've been just a monday morning thing!

Weird, this page was loading for over 5 minutes, pre and post my post? seems ok now though?

Is it just me or is the site acting weird this morning? Slow to load, some pages keep loading for eons, some don't load at all? Using Chrome, version 56.summat

I think 10t/butt may be a little over optimistic? If they were 5m long, they'd have to be about 1.75m average diameter to get to that weight... If they are, Awesome!

Don't you think it may perhaps be a little naive to think that all the log suppliers that come on here are actually good? As far as I'm aware, only mr Bolam has admitted to ever supplying crap logs, and given the amount of log selling members vs the average experience from buyers there must be a fair few crap ones here too?

Matelot, wtf, god almighty, **** me dead! I fully agree with everything in your post:confused1: It seams to me the amount of disbelieving, sarcastic replies can only have two reasons. Either you are so fed up with hearing about your competitors rubbish product and service that it's just getting too much to bear. or... You do indeed recognise most if not all of the op's issues because you are indeed no different. I have been a log customer in the past, having come home to a couple of wheelbarrow loads of slimy willow chucked on my drive, advertised as "premium seasoned hardwood" I can fully sympathise with TK. phoning up the supplier to have a moan should sort it, but then the log business isn't really regulated, many sellers both good and bad are small fish, often logs aren't the main or only business all of which means that often a slick customer relation just isn't as easy as for say a dedicated online retailer. Now technically, when buying anything unseen over the phone or interweb, I believe you are supposedly protected by distance seller regulations. But realistically, trying to get your money back from the chap that left you the crap logs is a whole lot less easy than returning your faulty personal massager to the online electro-sodomist suppliers for a full refund!

I'm no great expert, but here's my understanding. Most modern battery charger need to detect a voltage before they start charging, when your battery is completely dead the voltage isn't sufficient to trigger the charger to turn on so connecting another battery with jump leads can start of the charging process. My mother in law came across this after buying several new battery chargers, none of which would charge her batteries she uses on fence energizers (which use so little power they can drain a battery right down before they stop working). Battery capacity reduces over time do to deposition of sulfate on the plates, covering them. You can in some instances reverse this process by charging at a higher voltage which cracks these sulfate crystals off. This is normally achieved by charging at around 15v, with pulses up to 16v. The pulses physically crack the sulfate off, revealing the lead plates again so they can do their thing. To do this properly you need a dedicated charger. Depending on how the battery ended up being so discharged, the other thing that causes a battery to fail is the physical warping of plates, they bend under a high current load and when they touch the cell is dead, permanently. This is more common with big starter batteries. This cannot be reversed.

Weight should be fine, if it's about the weight of water it'd be about 80kgs which would be fine. Even if it was as heavy as lignum vitae it would still only be about 100kgs, which would also be fine. Length: I can't take much longer than 2m, because I'm not taking my truck over, just the tiny Deasel Wiesel which won't take long lengths and there's no way I'm travelling with the boot open. So if you can get it to my parents' house in Emmen, I can take it back when I come back in early May.

When you listen to the sound of this video it's obvious the guy is a cheat! You can't see the tractor when the stump starts to move, and you can hear it's not the sound of a tractor at all! the dude had some help from what sound to my untrained ears like a Boeing 747! with that kind of power on the ropes no stump is safe:sneaky2:

Has it just been on there for a year and been sat in a shed, or has it been working? Either way, if the paint is in good condition it should be fine. Clean the whole thing with a suitable solvent (dunno what you have available locally?) that takes off any oil, silicone, dust etc, repeat this two or three times if it has been working or got oily. Then rub it back with scotchbrite, clean it again with more evil solvent stuff, then clearcoat it. Do not clean it with solvents between clearcoats, the solvent will attack your previous layer because it takes a long time to cure fully.

Definitely stick some clearcoat over! It is what makes it shiny, and it is what gives a smooth finish. More clearcoat= "deeper" shine. Just rub it back slightly with some superfine scotchbrite, then again between clearcoats. I'd stick at least two layers on, but more is more shiny is better!

There is. There is a factory made one available or you can remove it yourself, it's not hard and requires no special tools. It makes a fair difference, in performance plus the cat weighs a ton!

We need more of this! The general population is ignorant when it comes to the dangers of trees. They think trees are all nice and cuddly, give us oxygen, beauty, windbreaks, shade, shelter, habitat, increase biodiversity and all that bollocks. When in fact we know better: they're all out to kill ya, the only safe thing to do is get them before they get us!

Insert cats under bonnet puns here... I suppose faulty parts can happen on the finest of products. I just had to send back a £3K piece of electrickery because of one faulty push button. Finest quality kit, and one small fault, it happens. As to why they could't diagnose your problem sooner I'm a bit baffled. Presumably constant smoke solved by changing the injectors means one or more was sticking open. That should have been obvious to see on the 'pooter as the fuel rail pressure would have been below the correct value?

I'm a bit baffled (only a bit mind) by those writing off medication? I know it may "feel wrong" to "eat pills to sort out thoughts" but that's just misinformed reactionism. The brain works in many mysterious ways, and chemicals play a very import role in it's functioning, readdressing a serious imbalance with chemicals taken in pills can really help sort you out. I've suffered depression for many years, first saw a psychiatrist over 30 years ago (consider I've just turned 37...) and not too long ago I fell into the deepest trough I've known. Wanted to kill myself as my life was such a burden on myself and others, would have done so more than once, but coincidence saved me several times (I'd be dead now if it wasn't for my Dog!) I was literally lying on the floor, crying for help but unable to actually go find some for a long time. Managed to drag myself to the GP, got happy pills, ate them, felt shite, numb, no more anxiety attacks but no joy either. It was rough as, but by eating them I was able to explore other avenues of help, and then slowly wean myself off them again. I'm now on top again, feeling better than ever. And though I really hated eating them I'd have not lived without their help. Asking for help and advice, here, from friends/family, from your GP etc is an excellent begin to getting sorted. But nobody but you knows the actual solution. Diet can play a massive role. All the chemicals that regulate your brain have to be metabolised from the food you eat, so changes in food can make a big difference. People's bodies absorb nutrients differently, therefore different diets can effect people in very different ways. And just like people get allergies where the body reacts to certain foods, some bodies are much more or less able to metabolise the nutrients taken in into the right balanced mix of chemicals needed for "normal" brain function. To get this sorted solely through diet can work, but to find out exactly what your individual body needs is not easy. It is a vastly under-researched field of sience. Big pharma makes meds, Big Farma makes food and never the twain shall meet... I can put you in touch with some people that can try to help you, psychologically or physically, pm me if you like.
