    Pruning boots

so one of my guys rocked up today with a shinny pair of arbpro's. I thought they looked really good, handy. Then i started to think, he's an employee of mine, im sending him out to work knowing he has no steel toe caps on where do i stand on this? I mean, the boys no muppet and i have no intention of stopping him wear them but just a thought, where do employers stand if he drops a log on his foot or stubs his toe or something.
  2. In my experience you can go as deep as you like withe a tracked machine.
  3. does anyone have any feedback on the ZT1844? only just found out about this one and looks handy?
  4. our local machinery ring offer discount, cant remember % , and my dads a keeper and gets discount through basc so must be loads of other options for discounts. all the fishermen round the coast here seem to be in new l200 so I assume there must be some offer to them somewhere.
  5. chelwood 32p. the only rake.
  6. ahhh, my fetish has been discovered.....
  7. up here we have Scottish enterprise and business gateway that can offer assistance with HR stuff, I assume there must be something similar south of the border?
  8. I did Iosh managing safely recently, I don't think this will solve bens problem. It was like doing the worlds longest site induction. I get the problem, we know trees, we use accountants because we don't have time to spend learning the in's and outs of tax law. I'm having someone do a new web page for us because I don't have time to learn how to do it. As we expand our time becomes more focused on what we do to keep the guys moving. if our attention is diverted away bad things happen.
  9. can you not get assistance in these matter from business gateway or whatever the down south equivalent is?
  10. I've just had a quote to have made up a fixed grab with rotator to fit. How do you think this would work out? Can you see any issues with this plan, the idea is to meet halfway between shear grab and free hanging rotator.
  11. I dont know which is the best, but we use jobber. https://getjobber.com/
  12. seriously..... i just clicked on that ublock link and it popped up.

  16. it could be one of those black and white foxes.
  17. I cant get over how dry it is, I've been stumping for the past couple of days and the soil is just dust even down to 2-300mm.

  19. ........ on that note, we were grinding out stumps today in Perthshire. the ground is so dry we had to go get dust masks as there was very little wind, we had put up a square of ply to contain the mess and we were working in a constant dust cloud.
  20. I don't trust anyone who's kit isn't in a sawdust ridden heap and emanates the pungent stink of old dog. jealous though, wouldn't last long like that in our camp.
  21. we have a few fails round us in Dundee area, I wonder if its attributed to the unseasonably dry weather we've had, then along comes the wind.
  22. not insignificant but not scary. we did a 2m height and spread reduction and will visit again next spring.
