  1. recently had a quote of £780 for 2 days to assist in tree removal from riverside. including haulage.
  2. I cant disagree with you there ian, however I love mine because I can go pick up the stump grinder, load tools in the back, go do the job, drop off the kit, hitch up the caravan, pick up the wife and kids and go on holiday for the weekend. for me it does all this without fault. obviously I'm bias since I parted with cash for one. I have owned a few 4x4's over the years and cant think of one that I would choose over it, I may have just owned a string of shite motors though.
  3. I'm surprised at mikes comments on the poor towing ability. We tow a lot with ours, tracked machines, timber etc. And I find it fantastic. Even compared to our old landy. I think there may be a possibility mike had it in eco mode, I dont know but this would make the towing ability pants but thats fixed with the push of a button. If I had to choose any 4x4 I've ever used for towing, I'd pick my hilux.
  4. We're actually in Broughty Ferry not that that makes any difference. Weight.... your guess is as good as mine, more than 20t I would suggest.
  5. Id think no sides would be best, no?
  6. I lost the plot not to long ago and near filled a ton bag with rubbish from motors and in the yard, nearly half greggs coffee cups. (............well to be honest probably more than 1/5th are mine)
  7. We are in the process of moving to new premises, we want the pile of rings in our old yard gone. All hardwood, probably all well seasoned. Access is a bit tight, hence reason for moving. Ok for pickup / van / trailer etc, you would need to come and look in advance if you want to come with a tractor. (what you see is approx 1/2)
  8. I would imagine the pay load would be reduce greatly with a twin axle assuming plated at 3.5t. If rated at 7.5+ i struggle to see the point really Sorry mis read the op . Regarding towing ability.
  9. ...... don't squash the tulips please!!
  10. if i put a cow through my chipper will it come out mince?
  11. thanks guys for your help, much appreciated.
  12. just googled Solis...... not sure what to think.
  13. I amazes me how scratches and dings appear without anyone ever knowing how it happened.
  14. yeah I am. still to demo one though. have to say, all things considered, if the prices were the same and I had faith in the local service agents I could easily be swayed to multi-one. but....
  15. mmmmm........ hows the shear for loading trailer, van etc. In my head the rotater has the advantage of being able to load from all angles with the HD log / silage grab from 90 degrees and shear from the rear only ??
  16. we went for a new truck. It broke my heart.
  17. so far the issue I have with the shear is its fixed, i think it would be an awesome bit kit if it rotated, I know you get the tilt kit but not the same really and makes it quite expensive. However not used one yet so could be wrong, happened before.
  18. only ever seen it to tree stuff from over the pond
  19. thank you. so not completely useless. which is good. I like the idea of being able to lift it to 2m and bringing it down on stuff. Did you get much material flying into the cab?
