  1. accept the fact that you cocked it up & sell it. try to sell it for slightly more than you paid so it doesn't feel like such a waste of time.
  2. so as long as i am under 5m in height, 100m2 floor space and 5m from boundary, it seems like im good.
  3. the shed wont so much overlook people as be overlooked by the flats next to my yard, other than that no one would notice it, i have always tried to be amenable to the folks in the flats, not starting saws before 10:00 on a sat etc, and so far never had a complaint. the shed so far has no sides as such just stock net to hold the logs in, at the moment it stands at 2.5 m high but no roof put on it yet, and its built next to a wall so from the gardens you would only see the roof. will have a scan on local council website and see what I find, or perhaps ignorance is bliss! The thought never crossed my mind till the frame was up and i seen how big it actually is and it probably wouldnt bother me but I am planning to build 2 more.
  4. I started constructing one of eventually 3 log stores today, and its quite big, bigger than it looked when i planned it out on paper! i seem to remember something about sheds / non-permanent structures but i am certain there must be some restrictions on size that i dont know about. my concern is if someone takes offence and i get a visit from the council, i dont want to be stuck with 3 sheds full of wood that i need to dismantle. Advice anyone?
  5. bag supplies ltd
  6. go chat with a local haulage contractor, he may be able to supply you with tar planing's from a local resurfacing works, in the right circumstances it can be free. This spread out and well tracked in gives a good surface to work from,
  7. Did you pick it up fae Gammies?
  8. Of course, but i wasn't untill now considering demoing a quadchip util hearing what people had to say, i had brushed it off as too expensive.
  9. the 125 has one ultimate flaw for me, its petrol, and thats a massive additional cost to take into account.
  10. Whats the thoughts on Greenmech build quality?
  11. Timberwolf 125 is'nt even on the playing field. Dont like the narrow infeed on the 150. Quadchip needs to be exceptional for the price compared to the others, thinking about demoing one.
  12. Aye, that's my main train of thought on the subject.
  13. Had quotes for Jensen Contractor, Greenmech Quadchip & Arborist 150. Anyone had any experience good or bad with any of these machines? anyone had the chance to compare them against each other? What would you go for? why? What other sub 750kg machines are worth looking at?
  14. All the trees are doomed! and we're all going to be washed into the sea!
  15. I am only asking as i am having personal issues with this at the moment, I was hoping for some help by looking at trees before and after pruning and what the climber thinks he has removed in a % point.
  16. Good article Tony. Out of curiosity, if you had to put a % point on the reduction of the wallnut, what would you say?
  17. How did you get it sorted in the end? i'm trying to sort this out now but seem to be trudging in circles. It fri and i should be in the pub!
  18. Old dynamic ropes are awful, i have an old sport rope that i can hold upright, like a snake charmer, for about 2.5 meters!
  19. Not really true though, modern dynamic ropes are much softer than the ropes we use at work. I actually use bowline to tie into my double ropes when trad climbing Maybe you guys are using old climbing ropes?? Dynamic ropes get much stiffer with age and use
  20. it may or may not be of interest, but indoor climbing walls for insurance purposes have banned the use of bowline for tying into and only allow fig 8. I use fig 8
  21. One of the best points about Eco plugs for me is that the client can see that you have actually gone to the effort of bosching something into the stumps, whereas they have to take your work for it if you spray.
  22. I've taken a few sycamore down recently from St Andrews up to Blairgowrie, all have spotting.
  23. Has anyone had success with Eco Plugs? i have used them recently but too early to see any results.
  24. Thanks mate.
  25. Yeah, i looked on this site, what are the panels called?
