  1. Eggzo I think it’s when you only order 1 pint of frothing ale in a handle
  2. Can anyone assist, I’m trying to replace my favourite throw line but can’t find it anywhere for sale. It uniquely had a monofilament core (red) inside a slick white thin outer. The closest I can see on Google searches is Gecko Dyneema which has the same core for stiffness, but I can’t find it for sale. Any clues gents or anything similar with the mono core ? [emoji848] Also, has anyone tried the Chinese throw line cubes? I can’t justify £70 to replace my lost Faltermeir .
  3. No one has mentioned the tree owners legal obligations under his/her ‘Duty of Care’ . A tree owner has a duty of care to take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions which he or she could reasonably foresee may result in harm or injury to people or property of neighbouring land. If you have a report from a Consultant decreeing the tree structurally compromised due to Ganoderma and is recommending removal, that report has surely helped you focus your “reasonable foresight” ? All very interesting stuff by some learn’ed people on here. I think it’s easier climbing them than sorting out the legalities !!??!!
  4. Blimey I’m surprised that it feels similar to a Tree Motion. (I’m assuming you’ve gone from the TM to the MB ?) It doesn’t look like the Monkey has the lower attachment points like the Tree Motion has , or has my boz eyed squint missed summink ? Leg loops look a bit hot . How do you find them ?
  5. I used to get this as well, until one day I said “ it’s when there are NO bits of sawdust/Woodchip/dried conifer needle being scatterbombed across the floors that all this work pays for that you should be anxious “ She didn’t get it, still moaned, so I divorced her !!!! Life is sweet ????
  6. I’m thinking your children may have hit teens ??? Utterly bewildering aren’t they ?? My ‘small town brought up ‘ eldest son speaks like he’s from Hackney and black !!!! (I blame his estranged life with his mother !!!)
  7. YES YES YES GRAHAM . At last, I am not the only one. I feel human again. I count the R4 interviewees responses by the ‘so’ sometimes , and as each one tallies , I turn slightly more puce with rage. What the hell is it with ‘fashion speak ‘ The rising inflective was bloody ‘Neighbours’ fault if you ask me!!!! Phew.....I think I need a herbal tea ??‍♂️
  8. Ps and I’d say if it’s fit for a Prince ....!!!! [emoji4]
  9. The site below might be useful but I’d invite the comments of the more learn’ed folk on this thread who have run the gamut already ....[emoji847] https://www.meadowmania.co.uk/wildflower-seed-for-clay-soils.htm
  10. This is all highly educational and very interesting as I’m also in the process of trying to establish a wild flower verge on the edges of my garden plot, and the local environmental group has ‘patch plots’ which thus far seem relatively unsuccessful . Tell me, would I be best of just taking the soil back to absolute naked state by digging out the Keck and Docks, nettles etc and glyphosating over a season until it was devoid of all competition (save seasonal windborn seeds which could be hoed ) and then introducing my wildflower seed/grass mix? Or is this slightly heavy handed. I should point out that the rest of the garden is very pollinator/wildlife friendly as are the immediate areas in my potential Monsanto napalming defence !!!
  11. You could say one is for load carrying and towing the chipper and the other is for quoting and pulling a trailer for the timber on a job....or stump grinder (“....insert towed plant option here......”) All pretty plausible and reasonable erm .......reasons !!???
  12. Ha ha ?[emoji15] I saw a guy in his harness and spikes at the chippy once in Birmingham at a lunchtime break........but in the pub.......???? No freakin’ way ??‍♂️??‍♂️?
  13. Customers who don’t clear up the dogs ‘lawn sausage’ prior to your arrival knowing full well they will be like mines floating in your Panama Canal of access.
  14. WHAT UP IN THE CANOPY ???? [emoji15] Good luck with THAT. If there’s that much lean when you’re up in the canopy that for some reason you’re doing what you’ve described, I’d personally say that is LOADED with risk and absolutely unnecessary !!!!
  15. I’m confused as to how this might work if the pathogens be they fungal or entomological are present under the cambium layer ? Is that not like standing in Detox if you’ve got ringworm on your arms ??
  16. I’ve seen this on some Oaks too recently but higher up. What is the significance of the D shaped holes David? What are they caused by ?
  17. As Harry and Al said, I would think it would be a vertical step cut (2 overlapping vertical cuts allowing the saw to be stowed and then the section snapped off and manoeuvred) or a side gob leaving a hinge and allowing the branch to be pulled sideways and then thrown once the saw has been stowed . Both allowing for greater control of the cut piece basically .
  18. Keel hauling would be too lenient for the scum arse fنءks that do this. I hope you get at least some retribution either financially or physically. I’m afraid you can buy a skeleton type key very easily that seems to allow access to transits it would seem . Ultimately, nothing is safe . I feel your pain after suffering a similar but much lesser fate .
  19. I’ve not faired well with them personally , and neither have 2 other tree surgery companies I know who have had incorrect orders despatched similarly . Caveat emptor ....
  20. It’s not the best photo, could you photograph the bark perhaps? That’d soon confirm that whether it’s a Goat Willow (which is a good guess I’d say Oaky)
  21. European Lime . Leaves are shiny because they’re only just broken bud .
  22. I hope it has better bearings than the other 3 different pulleys I have by ISC. All shot and excessive lateral play even on the smallest slack tending pulley (now long since retired) Personally , DMM all the way
  23. I know in the past it’s been down to the company or even the driver on the day, but I’ve no idea where things are these days or what the official stance is . I hope they still do let you ‘ride the hook’ as I’ve got my first crane job for possibly 8 years plus coming up, and I was looking forward to that wonderful luxury , as you say, of being hoisted over canopy with a crows eye view and then just descending descending and descending for each lift with the most minimal of thrutching !!!
