  1. It’s ok, Elon thinks there’s a chance it could be reattached with the right experts potentially ….
  2. Not drought related . Has been going on for too long and too widespread across county. Also, not all trees in stands affected and trees dying year on year . Affecting Scots of all ages
  3. Hello again, last year I asked for thoughts or experiences on Scots Pine die back. There was a varied scale of opinion . We undertook some heavy felling of browned or dead specimens as it was thought that Red Band Needle Blight might be responsible . Not even a year later the wood is still being decimated as are the local garden and copses here in Warwickshire . I’m just wondering whether anyone has any further input as they are dying EVERYWHERE here , woods, gardens , roadside ….anywhere and everywhere . it far more rapid and impactful than Ash die back currently but that is inevitably starting to sweep across the county also. I have attached some photos from today . The needles don’t to my eye look typically like Red Band but the occasional odd one does . Any thoughts or avenues to pursue would be greatly appreciated . I’m usually pretty good with pests and diseases but this one is stumping me . It’s genuinely a terrible swathe of destruction whatever it is ☹️
  4. My pleasure my friend. I genuinely think if more folk ditched the Vibram soled boots and tried alternative soles they’d wonder what on Earth they were thinking of , especially for climbing
  5. This has to be the shortest release date to recall of any product I can ever remember 😂
  6. Nothing lasts forever in the literal sense but the shorter wire strop I have has stood many trees worth over the 20 odd years it’s been in service…..so I’d say that’s pretty robust . Neither has it ever stayed open once, unlike most twist gates that have on occasion . And those lighter 3 way versions on the Stein like you say, are not that robust from my limited experience of them .
  7. They last forever especially when being whacked round gnarly trunks repeatedly
  8. Does anyone still sell this type of wire core Flipline in the UK with this type of US heavy snap ?
  9. Why is it you have to change the cam ? I have one on a wire core but not sure that I changed the cam …..oops 🤷🏼‍♂️
  10. Trango Vergo. Small, smooth, doesn’t move when hit with branches but pull out the lever and descend on single rope (11mm max) . I personally prefer it without a swivel as it stays oriented ✊🏻
  11. I do like the idea of the rope locking brake on the LD2 so you don’t have that anxious moment of watching your groundy taking off the wraps off the capstan on the GRCS once you’ve winched up a piece. Kind of the Achilles heel in an otherwise great bit of kit.
  12. I’m not sure any olives have compound leaves ?
  13. Seconded ✊🏻 and really resistant to getting wet. A superb rope all round
  14. Same as above. Terrible rope . Cousin Trestec Atrax is so much better . Night and day improvements personally and through the Zig Zag it flies
  15. Anyone have any ideas what this tree is? It has pinky red berries presently in Morocco . I’ve blanked 🙇🏼‍♂️
  16. I was working in the neighbouring garden to another arborist who was reducing an apple tree on 2 ropes . Took him all day !! I couldn’t help but laugh to be honest
  17. £0.28p a round ?? 😂🫣
  18. Ahh very interesting , thank you. The wood is in Warwickshire. I’ll most likely grab half a dozen pieces anyway , in case I ever meet a Woodturner with a swap or with a lawn I’ve just bombed !!
  19. No I’d swap it for Ash if it was worth anything . ….and yes as always , thus far been offered £30 for 18 x large lumps !!! No thanks 😂
  20. Has anyone ever successfully sold any Sophora japonica or Pagoda Tree wood for turning or carving. We’ve just had to take down a nice one in perfect health (don’t ask 🤬) and the guy wants it for logs ! Seems such a huge shame but it’s that heavy , I ain’t lumping it out for buttons . Below is an example , largest section 20” …..a hernia giver for sure
  21. So bought a pair of the Fitwells…..terrible for me. The sole is SO stiff , the laces ping of the tongue as the eyelets are too close to the top and the Vibram soul, as usual, slippy as a snowman’s nut end in the wet. Had to sell them . The hunt goes on 😫
  22. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

    • FOR SALE
    • USED

Bought only a few months ago but not for me. They look new. Worn approximately 6 times. Well reviewed boot . ‘Event’ waterproofing (similar to Goretex ) No signs of wear or damage .

    £120

    - GB

  23. This does seem like quite a laid back response at best…..bordering on indifferent and/or un professional . I’m with you Oliver, customer service and support is all part of ‘the brand ‘
  24. That’s a beauty, being a total clueless chump about milling but very much an envious fan of those that can…..would oxalic acid remove stains such as this ? Posts like yours make me want to learn how to mill Sir
