  1. I hired a Carlton 4012 wheeled machine last year. I was very excited. Never again! I actually finished the job with my pedestrian Predator as it was faster. IMO, the new pedestrian grinders are so good that the sensible step up is a Carlton 7015, or equivalent. Anything in the middle is just going to waste your time.
  2. Agreed. I'd also add that the best footwear for foot locking is a CT foot ascender.
  3. Using 4 wraps and no tresses. Basically the recommend HH knot but with four wraps.
  4. I've had many climbs with the 10mm Volcano hitch cord on Cougar Blue. It is sweet as you like! SO positive descending and breaks instantly with no drag when ascending. I bought the Volcano from Treekit and will be getting more.
  5. The advantage of the Protos is: 1. Better ventilation than any other helmet (this has nothing to do with hole size). 2. Better safety rating than any other helmet.
  6. Yes but it's wrong that you wear them over your jeans!
  7. That was the funniest part. I bought Super Dry stuff years ago and still had it when we went to Centreparcs. When we got back I threw every item in the charity box. Hahahahha!
  8. Holy cow, you've been to others! Haha! I vowed never to return and stick with my usual type of holiday.
  9. I went to Woburn Centreparcs several weeks ago too Mark. I didn't notice any trees at all. I was aghast at the chav hoards and the horrific prices! My boys went on the quad bikes. £64 for 20 minutes. I was furious!! The indoor swimming paradise was great, if you like bouncing off the overweight unwashed and being ankle deep in varucas. However, I bought booze.
  10. My advice about getting a caravan across the channel would be to test it's usefulness as a ships anchor. When you realise that it is not effective, cut it loose and enjoy the rest of your holiday in a fine hotel. Enjoyment will also be found from knowing that you are no longer despised by all other road users. Safe trip.
  11. Never mind a photo of the other side of the redwood. We want to see the other side of the pole dancing story!
  12. Erm, quite a few people on here have already told you you could double your prices. Enjoy your more comfortable future.
  13. Put a Rope Wrench with your HC then when you discover how much easier life is on a stationary rope, get a Hitch Hiker! Hee-Hee!
  14. I understand that, I've been there, but a prussic puts a lot of strain on your elbows and wrists. A HC system is slightly less abusive on your body. Your best bet is to also get a foot ascender. Sorry that I've been no help with the rope.
  15. My advice would be to ditch the prussic. That narrows your rope search criteria.
  16. What friction hitch system will you be using on it?
  17. It's money very well spent.
  18. I'm getting one of those. The kids will love it!
  19. Standing with the keys of a car all day? Rock n roll dude!
  20. Buy it open spaceman!!
  21. Reduce the amount of one handed chainsaw action you do. My tennis elbow pain (& back pain) vanished when I started climbing on an SRT system.
  22. Does look nice. BTW, on the recommendation of Colemanjesse, I got 1metre of 10mm Volcano. On my Cougar Blue it is the best hitch set up I've ever had. No matter how I set the hitch, it's perfect! The CB just falls through the hitch on ascent and descending is as smooth as you could imagine. Thanks Coleman. (I haven't tried a BDB though) Yet......
  23. Here comes another Arbtalk argument..... Lol!
  24. Nice SAKA by the way.
