  1. I thought you'd be competing Mark! I think the format is good but I reckon after the first 10 laps they have to start pitting every 3 laps and neck half a pint. Now that would be worth watching. I nearly forgot to mention that it would be women only and can you guess what type of woman should be signed up for it?! There might be a sprinkler system involved. Hahaha!
  2. You obviously have not used a HH then. To switch from a doubled rope to stationary rope (& back again) you need make no alterations to equipment or hitch knot.
  3. For me the advantages are: Easier tree access. Redirects. No friction on climbing rope whilst moving through the tree. Multiple TIP options. Disadvantages: None because if you buy a friction device that works perfectly in both configurations, you can switch between SRT and DRT as you wish.
  4. Yep. I tried the old rope again (instead of killing myself) and its defo not the HH. Back with 10mm Beeline it's ok but not perfect. Standard HH knot with only 4 wraps. The cougar is obviously the problem but hey ho.
  5. Hi Ger Sure I've asked you before but what rope are you climbing on? Thanks
  6. Another pertinent question is: Which lease companies have people had good results with? I'm also looking at leasing.
  7. That's because you hadn't shaved your butt hair before inviting him!
  8. Every climber knows that pain of the stuck throwbag! Lol! Now, if you had a RopeKnight that would not have happened.
  9. A bolt broke on my chipper last Thursday and Cliff at Arbrep told me I would have a replacement bolt by the following Friday. Yet today a full set of replacements arrived at my door. Four days early! Brilliant! He also called me twice to keep me informed. There's nothing worse than not knowing. A big thanks.
  10. No it doesn't. The Hitch Hiker works perfectly for an SRT ascent then when you reach the top change to DRT by clipping your rope to your bridge ring. There is nothing else you need to do. Perfect.
  11. I wouldn't do it. I know it works but the LJ is designed specifically for use in a DRT configuration. It is an asymmetric design and using it on a stationary rope means the pull isn't straight. Just my opinion and I'm sure I'll be blasted for it.
  12. Have you looked at the Predator 460. Like the HB20 its on a swivel but it's more stable and costs less to buy.
  13. You mean a HH2 then?! Haha!
  14. You're right Ben, I am being fussy but that's because my HH has always been perfect on Poison HiVee with Beeline and Armor Pruss and Liros. I love Cougar Blue because it's so static and I climb on a base anchor usually. I just wish I could get a hitch to work properly on it.
  15. Now we all know where the machines is at! Har har har!
  16. That's the thing Ben, I can't be arsed with experimenting. I keep thinking "Sod this, I'll order a BDB" but then I remember that the HH is perfect when the hitch is right.
  17. That's the funny thing about all this. I couldn't get HRC to work on my Cougar but Armor Pruss was good. I found the Liros to be ok. I haven't tried Volcano or Epicord yet.
  18. I think that's the girl on the left side in the video I posted. I monitor progress from within the van but find a problem with steam build up on the inside of the windscreen!!
  19. You may find this to be a fine solution to windscreen washing: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=windscreen+wash+girls&client=safari&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&fir=-Om7isvEOGSxwM%253A%252Ci7cIr2zr5fsLCM%252C_%253Bi9WEuRuThSyQ0M%253A%252CFGropC9dPBLugM%252C_%253BYwXsw81YDddOSM%253A%252CD7GNUqSzjyOocM%252C_%253Bps6TyCagP4otLM%253A%252Ccwtt-ClBJfkTSM%252C_&usg=__uLBa_TI3KlWbwlMQLTg7uoBc7zY%3D&sa=X&ei=EN8iVbvxJ8Hq7AaXkoDYBA&ved=0CCoQ7Ak&biw=320&bih=529#imgrc=bM29jlXVmMQdUM%253A%3B9GBeG_CwJnF9uM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.blogcdn.com%252Fwww.mandatory.com%252Fmedia%252F2013%252F03%252Funknown.gif%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.mandatory.com%252F2013%252F03%252F18%252Fi-dont-remember-this-scene-in-jurassic-park%252F%3B499%3B260
  20. So I've just spent some time reading on other forums. I'm now thinking that the Cougar Blue is the problem. Maybe such a static rope just doesn't work so well with a hitch based friction device.
  21. Good point. I haven't seen rain here for ages so there's only been a bit of dust to deal with. I keep the tools and spare teeth on the machine so I don't have to make the hateful trudge to the truck.
  22. What do you use to sharpen them with?
