  1. I've had two different chippers make holes in hedges when unhitched facing up hill. 'Twas quite a surprise.
  2. No but I'm sure Swingdude will be along soon and he's got some.
  3. I used it for the first time today on tall lime trees. Swingdude did a good job on this. It's simple and fits by sitting in the right place. It's not revolutionary of course but it is actually a lot better than fig8 tape loop. It stays put and is comfier when clipped in. Recommendable and when Swingdude moves to England in April (the mad fool!) it'll be dead easy to get one. Thanks for it Paul!
  4. Except the main body and top shackle. I used mine for 8.5 years although I was brickin' it for the last several months on it.
  5. Broadsword, the HRC is 8mm. Gerbutt, I'm determined to find a way of making this HRC work on my C Blue rope cos the HRC is pricey. However, if it doesn't work (cos I'm so inept) I'll have two choices: 1. Use a bit of the 5m of Beeline that I forgot I had. 2. Kill myself.
  6. So I'm climbing on Cougar Blue and today used HRC (aka Therma Shield) and for an hour it was great. Then it was awful. As soon as I descended it bit so tight I would be stuck. Is have to then stand on my foot ascender and loosen the hitch. Then descend 10" and repeat. I had been on the usual hitch knot then tried another wrap, then another. No luck! Eventually I had a VT, 5 wraps and 2 braids. That worked for two hours then started getting tight. HELP!
  7. Adam and Ger, what rope are you using your HH on these days? Thanks.
  8. Haha! Aw, come on. It's Sunday, the day of forgiveness after all.
  9. Oh, that's a bad HH design. That'll never work. You sick puppy! Haha!
  10. Yep, it's amazing how many variations there on the HH! I wonder how my main line would tend in there?!
  11. Weird. I can see it on the computer though. I think I'll look again.
  12. Apparently a new Hitch Hiker will be released soon and I hope to get my hands on it, if it looks like this one: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=hitch+hiker&client=safari&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=3lvgVPy0JMzfatK1gMgE&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=320&bih=460#imgrc=ASNhsxailSTiFM%253A%3BzMy8y39XJUorGM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.markcantalejo.net%252Fblog%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252Fhitchhiker1.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.markcantalejo.net%252Fblog%252Fhitchhiker%252F%3B900%3B600
  13. If you have the demand then working through the night is a no brainer because it covers security issues. Good for you! Late opening hours would be good for your locals and could be useful for those of us further away if you did it once a week. I'd certainly pop in.
  14. I've demoed the 6" & 8" Forst and thought they are very well designed. Also Redwood are a very well organised company.
  15. Total Waste of money that could be better spent on something important like loo roll.
  16. £5 - £? Depending on ability.
  17. If you get one you can let us know what it's like. 😄👍👍
  18. I've got a CT foot ascender. Compared to its competitor: The strapping is easier to adjust. The strapping is tougher. The metal is thicker (stronger?). The locking cam, that eliminates accidental kick out, is much easier to use than I expected.
  19. Love you Al but I can't seem to find your address, my cheque book, road map, car keys, box of cash............
  20. By now it's only worth £500, so shall I come over in the morning with a small stuffed envelope?
  21. Make Al Cormack but an Avant (that he keeps going on about) then hire it from him, cheap. lol!
  22. Agreed on both comments.
  23. I've had excellent service from Skyland for fairly small things. Top chaps!
  24. I bought a used Jensen from Redwood years ago. It then had a series of problems which was very annoying but I knew it to be wear and tear. It's also the risk you take buying used machines. Anyway, Redwood actually offered to lend me a machine while they figured out one of the problems. I regard that as exceptional customer service, way beyond anything they needed to do and one of the reasons why I always advocate their services.
  25. Some people have not been charged the duty. I got charged £20. Still money well spent.
