  1. I'm not sure. It was a U1200 with 1200kg chipper on rear and V-tread tyres. Apparently he was going down hill, lost control and collided with something strong. Obviously he was going too fast.
  2. I got my Predator 450 a few years ago from Arbrep Services who did me a VERY good deal.
  3. Could oil be getting through a valve that is closed, i.e.: leaking? I had that on my Mog once. There was a valve with a manual lever on the back so that I could switch between the two circuits. Got it serviced, problem solved. Some time later the problem started again and that was a leaking spool valve somewhere, I think. However, by that stage in the relationship with my Mog i almost had a Group 4 van full of £20 notes being delivered to the garage every month for repairs! When I sold the Mog, it was in tip top condition and the new owner destroyed it down a hill after a few weeks! Lol!
  4. My Cut n Climb leaks so I use Techwash. It's still not perfect and leaks under the arms if I'm climbing and have to lift my arms up a lot. However, it's no worse than the other jackets I've had and it's a lot more comfortable. When it's eventually ready for the bin I'll buy another.
  5. Any type of bollard is better than a Portacrap. IMO anyway.
  6. Told you Clarkes Forestry are great on service.
  7. I've found periodic washing with Nikwax Techwash makes all the difference.
  8. I found my Cut N Climb to loose its waterproofing earlier than I expected. I have since tried other 'better' jackets and found them to be much worse all round. I have come to the conclusion that no jacket on earth will perform as we want it to because of the conditions we work in. i.e.: dirty, fine mist of oil in the air, profuse sweating, inside of jacket being rubbed against a filthy fleece or sweatshirt. I've found the Clarks Forestry Cut n Climb to be the most comfortable and therefore best value for money. Clarks also provide fantastic after sales service.
  9. Agreed Mark but people tend to call themselves 'contract climbers' or 'subbies'. Both terms are incorrect in this context but let them get on with it.
  10. First time I read it I understood it as you did, which confused me so I read again and realised the correct meaning. I know Phil Harris well and can report that he is a 1st class stand up guy. Totally honest with no ulterior motives.
  11. If you're very proficient, productive and safe you can make decent money and will have work every day for the rest of your life.
  12. Oops, sorry. It was only a joke but I'll get me coat and never darken your chat again. That's an apology, followed by sarcasm, just to be quite clear. Over & out.
  13. Oh Lordy, here we go! FWIW I reckon Husky are better than Stihl. Or is it the other way round?! Lol!
  14. Check your Private Messages.
  15. It's the same as the 2510 so there's nothing new to report. I can say that I've changed from the Echo bar and chain to the Stihl bar and chain and it's transformed the saw from great to superlatively brilliant! That's not breaking news though as most people already knew this.
  16. The clients lawn or if that's not available, I make the apprentice lie face down and I use the back of his t-shirt.
  17. Brilliant!
  18. Get a digger with hedge cutter attachment to smear the thinner stuff. Cut the thick bits with a pole saw. Use the digger with bucket to pile it up and burn it. Most important part is to price it sky high and be relieved if you don't get the job.
  19. I've said it before and IMO with a Predator 460 or Bandit HB20 then a Carlton 7015 or Bandit equivalent, you have it all covered. Those two big machines are expensive to obtain but the amount of work they achieve per day is truly astonishing.
  20. That tractor looks like it has plenty of power, in which case I wouldn't worry about trivial things such as visibility and general safety.
  21. Please tell me that groundie in the photo is not wearing cut off trousers or small wellies! 😂😂
  22. I think anyone not using a Pantin and HAAS is mad. Why would you not reduce physical stress. If you're set on sticking with Ddrt system then consider an O-rig as well.
  23. That's a good way of keeping it simple. Why do you want an adjustable bridge? What friction device(s) are you using?
  24. I've got the Echo and it's good. I chose it as it's designed to wrk with a hedgecutter head. The trigger handle shape is odd and I don't like it but you do get used to it.
  25. Yes and you always open the door with a smile. 😘😘
