  3. I was working on the construction of a "green energy" wind farm a couple of years ago and I was ordering 20,000 litres every day and sometimes more i wonder how much extra that would cost if it was white diesel and how long to become carbon neutral Also i cant see how there can be a difference in performance between red and white when I was young the farm diesel came in a wagon full of white diesel and the driver added a measured amount of red dye into the tank after it was filled
  4. newish house here has small round sockets around the wall for small table lamps and are linked to a second light switch by the door so you can walk in and switch on all the wee lights with one switch

    plumbers?

think you will find that they are metric sizes its just "Old school" to call them by imperial sizes 1/2 inch and 13mm are the same 3/4 and 22mm ae almost the same 22mm olive on a 3/4 copper pipe needs a bit extra grunt when tightening or you can get a 3/4 olive and use n a 22mm fitting
  6. pretty sure I bought one of these drop plates at one point and can remember that it said it must only beused as a drop plate and was either illegal or not recommended to fit it as a riser plate -worth checking

  16. unusual one today went to change the pin and bushes in the end of thr dipper on my digger and the pin was split in the middle not sure how this could have happened as the break is almost exactly in the middle as an owner driver I am never sore on it and the bushes were not seized or worn and were still tight in the end of the dipper
  17. bar does the same as hole through the head you still have to unscrew the bottom bit
  18. yes got the bar to hold it but you still have to unscrew the bottom bit
  19. I have one of these heads and the first thing to do is drill a couple of shallow holes to take the spanner that yu use to take the nut off a disc grinder as the head self tightens quite hard
  20. the end with vent could be turned in the frame so vent at the top no vent on the end where the motor is but see the point about the wormgear being out of the oil may have to look at woody pauls suggestion of a beam under it
  21. just got this winch of the front of a mates tractor he is selling and was planning to fit a hitch to fit on the front of my digger is there any reason it would not work upside down as in the last 2 pics as it would be much easier to fit bracket any pins from an old bucket this way. only planning small scale winching of firewood up a banking
  22. after seeing a bucket mounted winch working in the forestry here Ive been toying with a smaller version for my 3 tonner so will keep an eye on this thread the one that was here was mounted in an old bucket and the wire could either go through a hole in the back of bucket or straight up the inside of the dipper and over a pully to give height will see if I can dig out some photos
