  1. dont think it would have been paraquat as it is now banned and it only affects any green leaf it touches and has no affect on roots most weeds unless very small will recover so dont think it would affect trees I stand to be corrected if wrong
  2. an estate just outside fort-william not full time here but get my house (and firewood) in return for weekend work
  3. just like to thank you guys for all the info you put on here first I put up a thread asking what stihl to buy as our local husky dealer retired but after reading all your posts on that and various other threads I opted to stay with husky and bought a 346 from jonsey so thanks to him for sending it to the north of scotland tried it to-day on some oak felled 4 years ago -all logged up with 13in bar most impressed also thanks for all info re Swedish logs you can see a few ready to be ripped beside the logsplitter never heard of them before comeing on here now sold quit a few to the tourists-keeps the midgies away also pic of my homemade saw horse got the idea from arb talkers as well may not post much but I do like to look and learn -do you all realise how much influence you lot have thanks again

    what stihl

HI I know this has probably been asked before but cant seem to find it I gonna be forced to replace my ageing husky 55 soon and now husky dealer local has retired but someone else now started to deal in stihl (next nearest husky dealer more than80 miles away) so was wondering what was the stihl equivalent I would consider myself as semipro not full time woodcutter but not wanting just a "garden saw either" never had anything to do with stihl as tended to use what was availible loca.l thanks
  11. Rowan is known hereabouts as the witches tree as they used to hang the witches from them in days gone bye and still considered bad luck to cut one down I have worked with pro cutters who flatly refused to cut one down----so cut them at your own peril!!!!!!!!
  12. got the 10 ton electric driven one and cant fault it only replaced one of the cables in 4 years a wee bit slow but think it only refused to split 2 bits in all that time also great service from M Large tree services mine was one of the first he imported
  13. self propelled chipper (Shreks wee chipper) page 62
  14. great for some things but hate roddydendron because of the crowns of branches anything else reasonably straight they are ok chips nearly as fast as you can feed it I have one with converted honda powerbarrow for shifting it its a a bit high to leave on for feeding but has ramps to take it off easy I will be selling it soon as I bought it to clear a large garden and am nearly finished it now there are pics on here a thread about someone wanting to power a wheeled chipper will try and find them
  15. its not as high as it looks and as i said its easy to wheel off the barrow
  16. just thought you guys would like to see my homemade self propelled chipper-my first post on here so hope the photos work!!!! for small jobs i leave it on the barrow but its easy to take off for bigger jobs
