  3. think I hold the world record for changing a fuel filter and bleeding a mini digger when it stalled when pushing up a huge roddy bonfire lucky there was a spare one and spanners in the cab
  4. its an old 08s was available as a chainsaw as well as a disc cutter I had one for many years and mate still uses it I got it from an estate forester it was their spare saw and was never used
  5. tidy very tidy must be good to look back at the end of the day
  6. you would need some sort of intake with screens on it to prevent stones and other debris going down the pipe
  7. dont think its as simple as that what will you do with the electric it is producing in the middle of the night and who is going to supply you or the local farmers when there is a drought or a spell of hard frost I have looked into this in some depth for the estate here and it far better to sell everything you produce to the grid and buy back what you use yourself think you may have missed the boat a bit as the pay in tariffs for new schemes has been reduced dramatically
  8. McCORMICK FARMHALL A Twin power | Oakfields seen plenty of twin tractors as in one behind the other "doe" style but never side by side how would you join into the gearbox?
  9. not shure the tonnage it depends on the digger pressure I will need to work it out packs a hell of a punch tho never get fed up looking at the view pretty much the same in all directions from here
  10. it came from evans and reid the mini excavator center in wales
  11. this has been in a roadside conifer for a few years now have had suggestions of a squirrel or pine martins nest as both are common around here but I dont think its either
  12. just got this it may not split right down to fire size but it sure makes life an awful lot easier most bits only need one split more and no heavy lifting should put that trailer in the overloaded thread!!!!!
  13. that looks the dogs whatsits what kind of diameter branch can you cut with that - must have a fair old weight hanging on the front when you add a branch
  14. didnt get a photo but in morrisons to-night they had "to my darling wife" xmas cards 3 for £5
  15. speaking to an old farmer to-day and he recons 1947 the worst winter ever for snow started like this until new year
  16. I have the electric version of this one and very pleased with it as above about the cables but just feed in a pushbike brake cable inner now very cheap and usually lasts about a season -it must be 10 years old now and still no problems and great for indoor use mine came from michael large it was the first one he brought into the country and had it at a show over here he called in on his way home to give it a real life demo and just bought it there and then
  17. if thats the price then at this time next year I'm gonna be a millionare!!!
  18. did a fair bit of this as you say about 30 years ago can be sore on the haul back drum brake if you use it to gain a bit of height also had good results using a "skyline" set up between 2 trees and tightend by a tirfor but it was a lot of faffing to set up and needed good spar trees and anchors at each end
  19. tidy job bet thats real satisfying looking back at the end of the day
  20. know exactly where you are coming from card only says you are competent at reading the books and passing the tests not actually pulling the levers its easy to get through the practical bit to easy sometimes especially if the training is "in house"
  21. Its a big ass covering exercise as well as a money making one eg if I as a foreman ask an Unticketed operator to do something dangerous or with an unsafe machine and there is an accident then me my bosses right up to the MD can be charged. ask a ticketed operator to do the same then he "SHOULD" know better as he has been "trained" and the buck stops with there this also applys to sub-contractors. this is the only reason you need a ticket on sites and is no indication to his ability to drive it
  22. its a bucket winch without the cable you can just see the hole in the back where the lead goes out there is rollers out there as well -think you can put the cable up and over a pully on top of the dipper -used to pull whole trees off the steep banks to the prossesor
  23. a couple more
  24. overlooking loch linnie just south of Fort-william I live in one of the houses and now the trees have been cut often drive up there for a \"quiet" half hour
