  1. Well done to you both Happy Days
  2. I was flickin though the telly the other day.... nothing to watch as per normal all reapeats and general rubbish. We Came across 'The only way is Essex' or something along those line.OMFG if I had a shot gun I would of blown the telly off the wall:2gunsfiring_v1:
  3. Those Halifax ads are just pure cheese when she starts singing and does the head thing..me and the missus look at each other and just CRINGE. All adverts are annoying!.... especially when out of an hour program 15-20 mins are adverts:thumbdown:
  4. Does a contract climber supply thier own kit?...Van, saws, fuel blower, insurance etc....Then 120 a day would not be worth getting out of bed for! more like 250 a day. If its 120 to turn up and use other peoples kit and not have the overheads of van insurance fuel etc then that sounds like good money to me.
  5. As Rangermatt said. I'd just spray them with grazon 90... theres no need to cut them first and you'll get prickled less:thumbup:
  6. It depends on who's holding the trigger.
  7. Anything will burn apart from willow:lol:
  8. If joe public were educated in tree stuff i.e right tree in the right place etc in the future there would be hardly any work for any of us.
  9. Theres a trend occuring here! waste of time and money for me also!!!when I told them I wasn't bothering a few years ago, they hit me with all the stats.... 1000's of people looked at my web site this month.... blah blah blah. Wow that's amazing all those people and not one phone call:thumbdown:
  10. D)dont hit the ground so often=less sharpening lol good old fashion file for me too... saying that I've never used anything!
  11. trouble is your competing against people who just want to potter around in someone's garden for a bit of bear money and people don't want to pay alot. I found it was always better to give them a price as people get put off by an hourly rate. Perfect example one lady I went to see, I said we charge £20 an hr per man she nearly fainted!!! so I gave her a price instead which she was more than happy with......It turned out for that job we turned over £40 per man hr instead of £20.
  12. That's my neck of the wood's! Will you still pay for the accommodation and food lol How much are you paying?..... I probaly no a few people who can help out. PM me Steve
  13. Hi Ian, I though about doing this to mine when I first got her, but never got round to it. How do you find the gear ratio's with the extra grunt?Because I find mine's screaming now at 55/60mph and would only benefit me if I change the gear box ratio so I can just cruiz at 55 instead. It'll be interesting to see how you get on! Cheers Steve
  14. I can't see why every one is banging on about washing the machine the guy's giving a heads up! you should be thanking him not slating him! My van and chipper looks like that after a week! Besides most metal before it fails has a hair line crack you can hardly see until it does fail and then you say "ahh thats been like that for ages...look how rusty its is!"
  15. I've only had chance to look at some of the photo's and David Bailey eat your heart out. I killed my computer a while back and lost all my photo's:thumbdown: Here's one of mine on hols....cant wait for this summer to get some more good ones.
  16. That's only a weeks worth of lane driving, and it's not even rained. She was going to get a bath when I got in but couldn't be arsed.....maybe tomorrow.... menyana
  17. That's a bit of a dodgy common fault to have!!!
  18. cheers guys. It could of been a bad one, but luckily it happened in the one part of wales where there was'nt a hill The bottle of jack daniels was the trusty standard issue scissor jack that is as much use as a bottle of Mr daniels for jacking a van up. as a warning though it wasn't the wheel bearings it was the locking washer that goes between the 2 nuts holding the bearings and hub/half shaft in place. I'll be checking the other side in the morning
  19. I was driving to work this morning....... there was a bit of a grinding noise, like a wheel bearing was on its way out, I looked in the side mirror and saw this. I didn't have hardly any breaks, luckerly I was going slowly at the time and did'nt have a load of log/chip on. It wasn't the best way to start a monday but at least the sun was shining.
  20. What about rotovating through a power cable, and knocking out all the street lights on a job we had to do at night on a bypass. in fairness though it was only 6 inches below the ground:thumbdown:..... I'm not sure how we missed it with the digger, coz we dug out a load of stumps before we hit it with the rotovator:confused1:
  21. yep I'm in..... pole sawing a branch off, cut through the branch saw droped a foot and so did the cable.....oops
