  1. It looks a nice stove, what sort of money are they?. You definately need a good burner this winter thats for sure.
  2. I bought a cheapo one off the internet it's a 16kw british made one, it was rubbish and eating the wood, I was thinking of getting a jotul f600 which is a lot of money. I looked into the secoundary burn and all that, made a few mods to my cheapo one, now its brilliant uses half the wood and puts twice the heat out. burns about a builders bag and a bit a week if its cold burning 16hrs a day.
  3. Hi Andrew, Have you got a cs39 course any time soon, or a cs32/34 or a manal fed woodchipper course Cheers Steve
  4. try focus on forestry they will probably pay 75% of the cost as well:thumbup:
  5. Evening all, I could not believe it, it's five years since I bought my climbing harness!! and according to health and safety (LOLER) I have to bin it. I'm a bit reluctant to because to me its fine, but I know if I have an accident or need to have an insurance claim my insurance will probably be void. (the buggers will get out of paying one way or another!) I Just wondered what your thoughts were on harnesses and found this package on gusthart and wondered if it was any good? its a Kolibri multislide https://www.gustharts.com/Products/Arborist%20Equipment/Arborist%20Climbing%20Equipment/Harnesses/Product/Kolibri%20Multislide/ or can anyone advise a good comfy make of harness. many thanks steve
  6. Hi everyone, I am hoping that somebody can shed some light on filling in Forestry PQQ's? also, are tenders affected by your turnover? Many thanks and Happy New Year
  7. I'm not an anti but in the middle somewhere. But if a fight happens I'm off on the anti's side you can use the hounds I'm using a gun:laugh1: I'd shoot Harry Hill first! thats for shaw.
  8. This could go on allday I just treat people, things(living)how I would expect to be treated by others. Your right about jeffrey and most of the population about the cheap chicken and pork etc something needs to be done about that. I used to built big poultry sheds when I left school, and to see chickens like that is not good hence I don't eat. your probably half right about the anti's they probably dont like the henry's because of the wealth thing but I'm not sure that is not all of the reason why. But then again the Henry's have got a chip on their shoulders too! take for example me in my work van....when I wait for them to come by in the lanes(on horses) I can't even get a wave or a smile out of them! and then when I wait for them in my sports car with a private plate, they all go past waving and smiling.Need I say any more. Ps Nice pic though
  9. Any one had a fire thorn Pirocantha(?) I got one in my foot, I could'nt walk the next day. They certainly live up to their common name (fire thorn)aka prickly sh*t.
  10. its even worse when good cod after being suffocted get thrown back to sea because the trawler has reached its quoter for that species and gets a fine if they bring them back. Now thats a waste and besides fish only have a three second memory. I'm not forcing my opinion on others! I'm just saying I would rather be shot compared with bieng hunted for half a day and then munched by a load of dogs. I'm sure the fox would rather that 2 which would you rather?
  11. I think Mr jammy dodger has got the right idea here.:thumbup:and all the hunting men on horses should take this into consideration, and take five mins to think about it.
  12. Nice digger!! what size is she? I like things that makes life easier:thumbup:
  13. Alot of these young lads need castrating and the girls are'nt much better! take for example a lad who worked for me since he was 16 and now 21, 3 different girl he's got pregnant 2 of them were under 15 at the time, all of them on benefits I'm paying my taxes to keep him,his kids and 3 girls How many people are like that in the uk?Somethings got to be done. Its gone a bit off the subject, well quite alot... but hey
  14. I've just read the article, why does every one think wood is a cheap fuel? It is if you get it for free, but I worked it out and if I had to buy in it would cost me more than oil. It should'nt be a cheap fuel any way there's a lot of work that go's into getting it out of the woodland to being chopped up stacked on someones drive! And all these wood burning stoves that are being installed and the wood munching power stations means only one thing wood is going only one way and thats up. Another thing is I can't see Mr Middle class getting his hands dirty on a weekend collecting wood from the forest and filling the boot of his X5 with fire wood. Its not going to happen. He just wants to flip a switch. Also if every one starts using it it wont be long before there is no woods left. Population control is a better option in my opinion
  15. Fair play, we've all done something at some point that we've not been proud of.
  16. I thought there might be 2 opposing points of view to this. as I'm some one who's in between this sounds like dark ages stuff to me and if any one gets pleasure out of seeing stuff or doing stuff like this to animals. that is f...ked up and they needs serious help. Hearing stuff like that make me wonder if its true what townies say "country folk are a bunch of inbreds" And as for the squirell thing it sounded funny and I was laughin at the thought of it. watched it, Not that impressed it may be funny if it was a cartoon sketch.Just bloody shoot it if your going to kill it thats what I say.
  17. Ahhh.... I did'nt think, theres the added bonus of taking them home and having a good stew at the end of the day. I also can't stand clicky people theres nothing worse! I'll give pheasant shooting a bash when I get a license. Thinking about it, when I was a nipper beating was great fun, trampling though brambles etc and 15 quid when your 11/12yrs was like winning the lottery. I see how your list could go on and on not mention the jobs it creates/keeps. Pheasant shooting it is:thumbup:
  18. "Should of gone to specsavers"
  19. This has'nt got anything to do with the hunt and I have nothing against fox hunting, shooting etc apart from the people on horses who think they own the roads and dont wave or crack a smile when you've just waited 5 mins in the van for them all to come by. any way I was going to apply for a shot gun to shoot a few clays and a bit of pest control. The thing I've always wanted to know is....what is the fun in shooting pheasants(not sure of the spelling) because when ever I drive through the lanes and see one they never want to fly off until you drive at them and nearly run them over. when they do finaly decide to fly off, there not the most gracful at flying and look pretty easy to hit, surely its more fun to shoots clays is'nt it ? and before any one says it I'm not going to put a pheasant in a clay pigeon trap.
  20. Fair play to grandad:thumbup: It is always easy for people to blame some one else even if its thier fault. Its not every one, but most people do. Its human nature Yes people are idiots for trying to get to the air ports etc in the snow all they had to do was put the telly on and see long delays/cancelled flights, they are stupid for even leaving the house.(Rant at these) The ones stuck in airports by no fault of their own I do feel for them.(no rant please) Although If it was me I would be the first one out the door trying to find a hotel to stay in before every one else had the same idea. We're all a bunch of spoiled people in varrying ways in Britain and alot of people need a big wake up call. But the one thing for sure...... its only going to get worse. so we've just got to get used to it I suppose.
  21. You came across a hornets nest with the first post. I think you may of just given a poke with this one.buzzzzzz bit OTT for me Would you expect you granny or kids to walk home in -5 plus, because I would want mine to walk anywhere in this weather let along anyone elses:thumbdown: Sound like you've got some issue dude sort it out.
  22. You've just got to get on this it, you can do anything about it. If it was dull dank and issing it down blowing a gail like it normaly is this time of year people would still be complaining. The sooner people realise we dont control it the better. "Stay carm and cary on I say"
  23. Thanks for the tips, I may give a turkey a go...... upside down and plenty of basting. you heard it first hear first folks. I'll put a bit of beef in just in case though:thumbup:
