  1. Only just realised it was you Nick. You have my number if you want to know more as this is for sale at the moment
  2. Love this machine it's an army tank. 245hp 9L Iveco engine. I can get 2 bays of 3.6m on it.
  3. I just heard it from a few contractors in Scotland. It doesn't take a genius to look at that crane and work out what will happen. It's a good design just needs tweaking
  4. Ask the boys as Ponsse how many cranes they have welded up and why from next year they are going to stop making them. You will get a good answer
  5. We've got a keto head on our 7.5t digger. It works well on thinnings and hard wood but the pump isn't enough really for big timber so it doesn't send enough power to the coils so every now and again the knifes will dig in but the rollers will let go a bit.

    Corwood

You want to get rid of a load for free? Send it my way!
  7. When I'm cutter soft wood I have the depth down real low so it rips through better when cross cutting
  8. old ones against the new ones
  9. I used the old ones as a template then just use a rule to make the lines straight out from the old teeth untill they met up and use a plasma cutter
  10. I cut these ones out of 5mm sheeting, works pretty well
  11. It's probably because they are losing money as it takes at least 3 attempts for their drivers to finally get in the woods.
  12. What's she like at dealing with hard wood?

I'm sure the land rover gang will be up soon to tell you how good they are but a hilux is a lot more comfortable and better on fuel

Can't beat a Hilux, I looked at and test drove every truck took about 2 months to decide and in the end I got a HL3 twin cab and the back is a decent size. The L200 you can't even put a wheel Barrow in the back
  15. I redone mine the other day, it was a day course with 13 other forestry contractors in a room. It was a good day and actually really interesting. The bloke running it told us he is told by the FC he has to teach us extra stuff like deep cuts and things, he also said if we have a heart attack in the woods we have a 2% of surviving which is good to know
  16. By the sounds of it it might be better walking away as you sound like you havnt got a clue
  17. It's only 3 miles, we have driven purpose built forwarders and harvesters further.
  18. Couldn't agree more. People will also read forums and threads such as this and see how people talk about their staff and how bad they treat them then that person stands around and wonders why no one wants to work for them.
  19. I know this will make a few people angry but I don't care...some employers also forget that there is a hell of a lot of firms around these days and there is a lot of work to go do so don't go thinking you are the last resort before the doll office because you would be very much mistaken. This is not aimed at anyone in particular but it has to be said.
