  1. I was lold by our local tree hugging council tree officer that if something like this happens if should be the owner of the tree who is to blame not the person who is doing the work (unless you get the wrong tree). This , i was told, was to stop big building firms and land owners felling TPO trees. So why was you cautioned at all. Questioned yes but not cautioned. If it happens again (hope not) refuse the caution. It wasnt you fault you checked you were doing your job. Looks like they went for the easy target. I would dig a bit more find out who is to blame and get caution removed. TOTALY WRONG:thumbdown:
  2. I dont like whisky but me dad does and its his birthday soon. The rest of the jobs are worth £250ish all front garden jobs so easy work
  3. You all must be getting old. Dont you all now that you have to respect the younger generation as they already no everthing. They dont do the running, make the tea, clean up, write there own c.v. or make phone calls for jobs ITS AGAINST THERE HUMAN RIGHTS. You be wanting to think for themselfs next.
  4. Mr Blair i guess u dont get many job off your neighbours or they a bit richer than mine. The council stated £450, but the council caused the damage. It was witnessed by a neighbour. The thing that gets me is how the heck could they charge that price. I did charge a cheap price got a bottle of good whisky and 2 more jobs out of it. It sometimes pays to be nice :001
  5. Last week got a call to say a neighbour had the council round to tell them to remove part of a lime tree about 8ft high that was leaning across the footpath (had complaints) and refused to leave till job done. When i arrived it turned out that the day befor the bin lorry had caught the tree and caused it to lean over the path. The council man also to the owner that if she couldnt find anyone within half an hour he would get the council to do it and charge her. The job took about 15 min to do Question is how much would you charge and how much do you thing the council were going to charge even when they did the damage
  6. I've run both but like the chainsaw best. If you hit anything with a circilar saw blade and lose some teeth you have to take machine to bits to get it off (japa 700) and if u not got a spare a long time waiting when you need it most. Where as a chainsaw you just change or sharpen. Very little down time

  10. You can get that £300 back off the police if you want but it will take some time and alot of being fobbed off by lying coppers. Its standard practice for the recovery firm to charge you and not the police because they dont pay. You need to write to you chief constable and ASK for your money back explain your situation. Then you will be fobbed off by different police for a long time with the hope you will give up. If all fails go stright to your police force HQ (in work wear covered in sawdust woodchip etc) and demand to have your money returned or legal action will be taken. It worked for me, you may as well get somthing off them
  11. I've put my storage boxes from my old transit (smiley face type) on flea bay. The dont fit my new transit (Doh). They bolt to the chassie brackets. They in good nic need a wash and a coat of paint but waterproof. Cost £650 when built open to offers. collection only. Item No 320897319378. Dont no how to put link up or stick it in trade directory (sorry).
  12. You should come round mine we have land and livestock next to a housing estate and they all think they have right to walk all over the place. Mind you they do as they are told when i walk over to speek to them with gun in hand a large collie trying to rip there mut to pieces. Not many repeat offenders
  13. Is it a modern house double glazing no air flow. Ask if you can see the fire check to see if smoke is being drawn up. Is he a new ish fire user
  14. is it me or do they look like the stihl but with different coloured plastic. Me old man bought one, like a plonka, for 60quid at least it stops him using mine for a short time
  15. Wont stop it they sell it on the black market. To much money to miss out on. Reading in the paper the other week said they miss out the scrap yards stick it in containers an ship it abroad
  16. if stored outside with a cover on the top and split will take a max of 4 months to dry . Quicker in summer.
  17. Milner off road Matlock. Will be new but cheap an good
  18. Where abouts in Nottingham. I can collect and have 2 sites to tip (chip as well) depending on price
  19. Sick a gas canister in your pocket to keep it warm then swap it when you get problems. Gets the job done
  20. Best thing to do with vw campers
  21. i got one about 3 years ago great bit of kit. Got mine from a firm called ABILJO longer tines than that one great for brash clearing log stacking and if you use a long railway sleeper great for leveling ground, hardcore etc
  22. But they say "most wood is treated releasing heavy metals into the air". Now unless i'm missing something i just saw my logs split bag and sell. I think this is more Big Brother. i'd like to see them arrest someone for that. Saying that if it was our local police force they be on you like a shot
  23. I've got a transit and have a large box under the tipper bolted to the chassie on the drivers side that will hold 4 saws 1 blower 1 hedge cutter and other hand tools. on the other side is a smaller one that can hold 3 large jerry cans and 2 oil cans. They were all made to spec by previous owner and may be up for sale in about 2 months. If you cannot wait a firm near york make ali ones for about 179 quid
  24. These same people have now been told by an expert/plonka that they cannot have there fire in all day if not in or all night when in bed because a spark may cause a fire in the oak beam above the fire. So he said they should have a gas boiler to work along side the stove which heats the hot water and heating. Bit of a con me thinks
  25. Hearing every thing that went off in that house, no smoke alarm, no fire gaurd, unfinished fire who said they bought the wood. Theres more people with wood burners/fires taking wood off jobs for free or being given it.
