  1. Most have'nt got a clue. Most of what they know is what they read off the internet or from the book that comes with there new fire. You will find the more people who jump on the log selling bandwagon the more rubbish about log they hear. LIKE:- logs have to be seasoned for a year, you cannot burn soft wood, a 900 x 900 builders bag will not hold a cubic metre but a 1metre x 1metre will hold 1.2 cubic metre, a builders bag holds a tonne, and the best i find is its carbon nutural fuel because the carbon it produces when burning is consumed when growing, what about the felling, processing, transport. Carbon Nuteral my arse. Let them be picky it will cost them not you. Unless they can tell you what type of wood you are delivering dont let it worry you
  2. Dry's better and quicker when split but when dry light as a feather. Burns ok. Mix it, works for me or use for kindling
  3. I thought i had a dead ecualyptus in my front garden but at closer inspection there are small green shoots coming from the trunk i think people are a bit to quick to condem them yet. Saying that my neighbour has one about 50 ft tall single stem and i hope it is dead if not it may die soon
  4. would this be ollerton nottinghamshire. If so what sort of price to deliver a load to Kirklington or even collect
  5. is you pump belt diven. I had same problem under load the belt driving the pump was slipping so changed it. It was also slow first thing on a cold morning. worked a treat
  6. did you get his name. I'd send him a xmas card. There isnt many decent coppers around these days they all a bunch of useless pen pushing jobsworths
  7. Its pop. Split it stack it and leave it for about a year or sell it to someone you dont like
  8. Try a Bushnell trail camera. Self contained can be put anywhere good picture day or night. Good for watching wildlife nod nod wink wink (The same camera that filmed those tigers in the mountains somewhere. it was on the news a while back). Takes up to 1 min worth of film or stills as many as you want depending on size of memory card. Should cost £100. You could even hide it in a log
  9. Been doing logs for 16 plus years. Most of the wood i process is arb waste. Started with an axe then stumbled across a petrol driven logsplitter it was a god send. After about 6 years i needed something quicker as i could not keep up with demand and was spending more time logsplitting than doing any other work. Bought a japa 700 and it paid for its self in the first year.Handled most wood up to 10inch and worked well with very few problems. Sold it last year for £500 less than what i bought it for (split larger stuff on logsplitter). Just upgraded to a self powered road tow processor great for when work gets slow. At the end of the day if things go bad what ever you buy you will still get a good price for it (depending on condition) Start small then if things go well upgrade
  10. will be fine when dried. It dont spit much like everone claims. If you selling it just ask them if its for an open fire or closed. Where anouts in Notts r u
  11. Ash will burn green best wood you can get. As for the rest between 4 to 6 months other than pop needs splitting and storing for a year. Been selling wood for 16-17 years and the idea of leaving wood to season for a year plus is a load of dogs round bits. Felled a large green beach last year in july, left in rings outside, split in september, dry as a bone burnt great on my fire. Anyone say otherwise is talking rubbish and has been reading the booklet you get with your new fire
  12. Try working in the farming industry as well as the tree industry. Put my hand through a door this year due to plonkers i work with. They all seem to no everything but are as thick as dog doo. Had one lads mother wanting to have a word with me one day. I must be getting old and grumpy or something
  13. You should check out B&Q about 6-7 logs in a net for £7.98 well worth it NOT
  14. Try Medalion Nets. Tell them what you looking for they will send you samples free. Always been good to me and quick delivery. They are based at Kings-lynn, Norfok There on the internet
  15. Get your stuff DATA TAGGED makes it easy for the thick boys in blue to get it back if found, easy to trace , and a reduction in insurance.(farmers have started doing it so it must be worth it.There tight as a ducks bum). Makes the little gits think twice before pinching stuff
