  1. Newark and sherwood dc and Nottinghamshire cc charge both. I understood one of them couldn't be ring fenced and must be spent within the community it came from and within 5 years or it returns to the builders. Our local pc are spending more time talking about it most of it will go back to the builders
  2. Had mine done over 2 months ago. Before it was constant pain. Difficult and sometimes very painful to climb. Pain all the time even with pain killers. After op I walked out of hospital and was driving within a couple of days. I did have 2 weeks off ish then 4 weeks light work but it a hell of a lot better. The only downside is the drugs they give you to knock you out cause problems going for a dump for a couple of days. Other than that go for it
  3. Anyone know of some good strimmer guards to go round the base of young trees between 2 and 5inch diameter. The firm who do our parish council grass cutting have been killing the newly planted trees buy hitting them hard while strimming. They claim its rabbits even though every tree has been hit. Any advice greatly appreciated. Marc
  4. Or there is some metal in the wood
  5. Medallion nets for me to. Great people to deal with and easy reordering
  6. I have worked on a tree next to that tree and spoke with the owner (unfortunately no longer with us) and she told me that the only time anyone looked after it was when they wanted the cuttings. Alot of business around that area have made alot of money off that tree and put sod all into it's care.
  7. Don't worry already know about the greenies but some want it sprayed off and rotorvated others just rotorvated. Some have started and sprayed it off themselves. If the works there I my as well have it
  8. It's was a football field sort of. Well cut all grass
  9. I've been asked to spray off (roundup) a load of allotments for our local parish. I've been asked to quote for individual plots and was wondering what sort of price I should be charging. It will be with knapsack sprayer and quite precise as they are new allotments with paths in-between. Thanks in advance. Marc
  10. Open to sensible offers on the wood . Collection only. Will get some pictures later
  11. Too tyred too change it
  12. Forgot to say it in Nottinghamshire. I do firewood myself but its to much for me and I don't have the time
  13. Spoke to a guy I no today and he told me he'd had 60 pops taken down and was wondering how much they would be worth and would any one be interested. Access good, weighbridge close by. Don't know the size's as yet will have a look later
  14. Just picked up the new one and the old one had broken. Part of the brass centre bit had broken at the top
  15. They are but in this type of weather they can be a pain. Had to modify a tractor thermostat once in the middle of harvest due to overheating never overheated again. Stayed cold in winter though. I will reinstate mine when summer is over
  16. Pulled thermostat out and it didn't look right. Placed in boiling water and it didn't seem to do anything so have removed it completely. Just done a test run and the temp stayed normal. I hope this has sorted it. Radiator is in good condition and clean. Thanks for the advice
  17. It's a 2000 model 161 thou on clock. No drips. I'm thinking of taking thermostat out in this weather just to c if it sorts it

    Buy or Lease

I am a self employed (not vat registered) doing trees and fencing with the occasional landscaping if I'm not busy which at the moment I'm buried with work. Would I be better leasing a vehicle or buying one. I'm also a trained mechanic so repairing stuff isn't a problem. The problem is finding time to fix stuff . Also what sort price would I be looking at to lease a arb truck . Any advice appreciated
  19. Not checked I've only topped it up a little with water because I ran out of coolant and that wasn't much
  20. Travelling back from Birmingham today towing a large ish chipper my van started to overheat. It didn't go in the red but did keep going up when driving up hills and back down to normal when going down. I'm thinking its the thermostat as is levelled out a bit when I turned on the heating full. Its a 90hp transit and it did the same run yesterday with no problem. Would I be right in thinking it's the thermostat or would it be something more serious. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
