  2. Nottinghamshire. Top side ish
  3. Guess what it's snowing here
  4. I got some but there's a firm called DJC tree works near you that has plenty and always looking for a tip site
  5. We are in the hands of the land registry at the moment but he's using the top lawyer in the country. Money isn't a problem for him. We know we have more right than him but money talks.
  6. The fact is he claims he owns the ransom strip but has no proof. He now claims rights on the hedge which he has disowned untill now. He seems to think it fine to deny ownership untill there is likelihood of money coming his way. He even tried to claim ownership on a non existent ransom strip between ours and the neighbors field. Why should we have to pay anything to a greasy arrogant piece of work who thinks he can do what he likes because he's got money. We have worked hard for what we have, like alot of people, so why should we give anything to this greedy b#*tard without proof
  7. Thanks for the info so far. We were asked to maintain the hedge by the council because they couldn't find an owner. All documents regarding the hedge from the previous housing estate are missing (no surprise there). But we have knowledge that he claimed he did not own the hedge when asked to maintain it by the parish council and it just so happens that 10 years worth of records have gone missing. Yes Geoff you right
  8. I've been maintaining a hedge on the side of our land for the past 20 plus years (we have lived there 34 years). We don't own the hedge and could not find anyone who did. Its on the side of the footpath next to a housing estate so only in our interest to maintain it to keep sheep in and neighbors happy. We have now applied for planning to build new houses on the land and the local estate agent/corrupt I own everything rich bloke has tried to claim he owns the hedge through land registry. . My question is Is there anything we can do to stop him (we have contested the land registry claim but he has money and we don't) and if he is successful could I bill for the work done and how far backdated
  9. You right mark just what I was thinking. I did advise him and warn him but told him it was his choice. Will see what happens
  10. At the price they quoted you be lucky if the waste got out the back garden before they asked to be payed
  11. I did tell him it's his choice and also warned him. Will see what happens
  12. Mr Bolam was close with his 2nd guess and your name here was even closer. The prize is you can have the job for the price quoted
  13. Went to drop of some chippings the other day and was asked to quote to remove 7 conifers. They in a small back garden. Cannot be felled in 1 go but the drop zone not massive but big enough to remove bit by bit. They stand about 6ft taller than a 2 story council house. The 2 outside trees are about 2ft across at the base the rest are about 8-10 inches. Its only a short drag from back to front of house. Remove everything including wood. I've already quoted but was abit shocked to be told how much his previous quote was.
  14. Wish I could keep my 3.1 trooper. Its been a great machine. Engine and gearbox is still good with 178000 on the clock its just the body that's letting it down. I my keep looking for an Isuzu. Trust what you know I suppose.
  15. I'm looking a buying a second hand 4x4. I have had 4 3.1 Isuzu troopers that have been perfect but now due for an upgrade. The 3lt Isuzu don't seem to have a good reputation so was looking at a Nissan x-trail or shogun (no landrovers). Anyone have experience of either or would suggest anything else. I do like to have a backup truck for when/if my van breaks down, towing jobs, and occasionally for jobs where my van won't go. Any advice greatly appreciated
  16. Just repeating what I was told buy the guy I hire it from who was told by the firm he bought it from. But still a good machine
  17. Just spent a week working with one. Good solid machine. Was told it was a Jenson but bought by forst and modified. Just needs a wider opening feeding wide stuff like hawthorn can be a pain.
  18. I smell something and it ain't smoke
  19. Will have a look/feel tomorrow
  20. But 1 is a stop and 1 forward and reverse. That will confuse the partly sited/blind operator
  21. Knew I'd seen them before
  22. Was thinking equal rights and all that. Should be fun with a chainsaw
  23. Using a new Frost chipper this week and noticed around the stop button and forward and reverse there is brail. WHY
  24. I do. If I don't get it after 28 days I pay them regular visit in my smart work clothes covered in sawdust, mud all over my boots. Its best when it's in someone's office. They soon pay up. Or send them a invoice with unpaid in big red letters across it
