  1. Jeez, send that photo to the papers! Odd that there were no locknuts on wheels like that.
  2. Easy to climb, chips nice, burns well, pollards ok, light wood, looks ok, what's not to like?
  3. I was being facetious:001_tongue: I bought one like that off here funnily enough, then promptly sold it for a profit! they are lovely bits of kit. one like yours would not have lost a lot of value.
  4. Miles away, but as I say don't sprint home for everything, small agricultural tractors are cheap here, as are the implements, Try LE BON COIN a sort of french e-bay. Mick
  5. Probably 500 quid less than you paid for it!
  6. Doesn't sound too bad for €3000 euros you would get a massey 35, topper and small trailer out here. You near Angouleme?
  7. Hi Paul, A tractor would be a good idea, those mini kubotas can fetch silly money here in France as well as in the uk. An older bigger tractor (30plushp) will run the topper for the fields and pull the wood out easier and cheaper. A lot depends on the slope, how bad is it?
  8. You make a valid point, it's usually men who take on the late night, poor weather driving, that's not the whole story of course but it's largely ignored.
  9. Why speculate? just wait and see what it's about.
  10. Tricky that! hit from behind with a wet wipe.
  11. Iphone pic of a tasty skidder on the way to work
  12. Why don't you take the money, and buy it back from the insurer? quids in! Just a thought:001_smile:
  13. How's your shoulder?
  14. Used my mates recently when the 200 broke down, lighter, not as powerful, nice little pruning saw. Cheaper aswell, But....won't be changing, I would miss the grunt.
  15. Likewise, what's with the pens? btw Did you see Susan Boyle's website was susanulbumparty.com or somesuch.
  16. Ok nothing special but got the Ranger sign written. Btw does anyone have any recommendations for a decent winch that fits on the front? The Landy and its HL14 may have to go, I know the electric ones are not as robust, but for pulling over leaners they are ok.
  17. I like a bit of dispute, otherwise it's all a bit anodyne, it's what keeps you coming back to certain threads. Look forward to the results!
  18. I saw the news item and had not realized it was not his tree🙀 my mistake!
  19. Ok, going to play devil's advocate here, (just to add balance don't go nuts) From what I saw it was a pine no more than 12ins diameter, was it really such a crime? A lot of the reporting emphasies that his home was worth 50 grand more after the felling, that seems to be why there is a lot of righteous indignation. If he did it because he was worried about the light or safety I don't think people would get so high and mighty.
  20. Missed out on a lunge there! (good work btw)
  21. List of trees not to climb in high winds No 1, Poplar, cos they are snappy, whippy, malicious sons of bitches, they'll be there tomorrow, don't worry.
  22. Bad luck about the wall! if a job is tight on money something like that will rip the fun out of it. Ringing it down will be a PITA, maybe that crane might of been a good idea after all!
  23. Now Ty, I am not overenamoured with what could be construed as boasting earlier in this thread, but everything in this post absolutely hits the mark. I always finish the job trying to sell a bit of grinding or point out some other trees that may need work. Not pushing you understand! Leave it with them and often they will phone a few days later and say "we want to go ahead with that work you talked about"
  24. How much did you pay for it?
  25. God this thread has spewed out some rubbish! Ross, just take the goddam tree down and stop hand wringing about it! Tony you are absolutely full of it! Resigning yourself to going to Europe! what a laugh! Remember the last time you flounced out of Arbtalk? back with your tail between your legs a week later! citing some manufactured nonsense about picture copyright, as if! I remember you saying that you were going to start a charity helping tree surgeons to understand the enviroment or somesuch and other grandiose projects which all came to nothing. Now you are threatening to leave the country "when you bulid up the courage" Taking you seriously has never been easy, lately it's becoming downright impossible.
