  1. Excellent craftsmanship and inventive use of materials. You've found a customer who appreciates your talents and it makes their B&B shine out as different which must help their business no end.
  2. As they are fruit trees surely you don't need any permission?
  3. Thats what I thought But BT said they didn't supply and wasn't their problem I too thought it was a bit like power supply. One firm supplied the facility any other provided the power supply.
  4. Do you really need to work sundays. Are you that desperate for cash This is xtras isn't it. Not company work
  5. So true especially the dance
  6. That would be the dream We found out BT didn't supply the neighbour It was some other telecoms firm Waiting to find out the outcome 30metres telecom wire, 1 hours work= ?
  7. Yes thats what I mean= broke The homeowner was a business down the road who just said. You bust it you fix it when we first went round. They couldn't take credit card payments and shut for the afternoon.
  8. We recently took out a telephone line running over a property we were working at. We had 4 to contend with so it was always a possibility. The line was to a house 4 doors down. My thought was... Were we legally liable for this damage as in effect the line was trespassing (maybe a bit harsh but you know what I mean) over our customers garden. Any thoughts appreciated ( apart from the obvious) especially if you have first hand experience of this sort of thing.
  9. You know you're going to go back and check out what they did for the money. It sounds too cheap. Maybe she is going to get stung with xtras:biggrin:
  10. Nearly forgot..... Not Question is will Twelvetrees play his outstanding game or his crap game. Manu's hard shoes to fill Will Farrell have the confidence to control the backs Will Englands recent good form just be a flash in the pan
  11. Please tell How did you deal with it Mark?
  12. Road signs not positioned proper Probably have done with a few more cones Hi vis already mentioned. If cyclist was hit then it was tree guys fault as outside work zone. Classic case of groundie trying to direct traffic and be a groundie= cost cutting Truth is this could have been any of us and we should just take it as a warning. By the way- when cycling I am bristling with focus and I love the way it makes you feel alive. Danger is sometimes good. Can't believe anyone could blame the cyclist.
  13. OK A bit of advice please We have had 2 ms261's and both have had issues almost from the start. One has been fixed and turned out to be a good saw. Unfortunately one of the lads left it on site yesterday (dodgy housing estate) and it's gone. Not surprising. What should I now do. Stick with Stihl or go Husky again. And if I change back which saw should I get. I've been away too long.
  14. So you don't recommend one.
  15. Have been onto Nat west and they have reduced the charges by changing my tarrif so the Co-op would now be £100 more. A good day at the office. Thanks ArbTalk The ethics will have to be down to me.
  16. You would still have to stop wouldn't you?
  17. would be a big plus for me also. Thanks for the tip.
  18. That would save me about £150 p.a. Do they do internet banking. Do you get interest on monies in credit. Any other benefits?
  19. Nat West are great They only charge for cheques in/cheques out/ BACS/ cash in/ cash out/ DD/SO's Other than that, I can't fault them.
  20. Sorry to hear that Chris It's a tough hit. Hope it doesn't stop you working.
  21. that seems to be the problem
  22. So what you are saying is max out all your accounts then fold and it's free money. Surely there must be a way of getting directors to be responsible. I had a company only owed us about £400 who folded laying off 20 staff but the 2 directors had the premises in their pension plan and it couldn't be touched. Worth about 4 million. I think they had drained the company to buy it. We got letters from the administrators about the situation for years whilst it was being dealt with. They must have taken the rest in administration costs. So it seems limited has some benefits if you are that way inclined.
  23. Not quite If you are buying in materials you then need to use the nett price. Add this to labour costs. Add on your profit then add VAT onto the lot. Bearing in mind you will have other overheads that you need to charge nett i.e. fuel/trucks/tools. It will put up your costs as it is basically a tax on your labour costs and your profit but if you want to expand then you have little choice. Use the few advantages of limited liability to get a bit back and start that hampster wheel up again.
  24. Dead standing- is this the future for loggers. Kill the trees then process them- everythings lighter= cheaper to move, and preseasoned.
