  1. Bull bars need subsidising! Im £45 a builders bag, but I run an escort van currently and let the customer collect mainly!
  2. Watch out for the goal post movers, say one thing then reduce it to another!!! Im not naming and shaming. Its against the rules, just tread carefully.
  3. Chains work out better if all or most of your saws run the same chain type. But thats not realistic for most. As for aspen if it stops you from dying of petroleum caused diseases. Worth every cent. However I don't use it because the price is a bigger margin and I don't make enough to justify it. However if you end up throwing away stale fuel and someone destroys a saw not getting the mix right, also time saved mixing. The difference diminishes. Alot of the viability of these depends on YOUR business set up.
  4. He better not say just carried on with his hammer! after all that:cursing:
  5. Wood is addictive and therapeutic.... until you do it full time or for big sessions, the the body tells you its not so good maybe!

  7. No but they charge them out at that and supply them with £50 worth of tools that last years.
  8. Around £600, 6 1/2 cubes a years worth for me in wood to supply hot water and room heat. But I burn my rubbish grade firewood. Which if I had to get a skip in it would cost £200 probably
  9. Got to hand it to the daily mail the arborists newspaper. I found this on another websie. googled it -Rainbow eucalyptus resemble colourful works of art after shedding their bark | Mail Online
  10. I think its wise to have stock. My nearest pro dealer(who doesn't always have what I need) is 25 miles away. A waste of time if i had to go special. I have always tried to keep such consumables on stock and they do come in and make a warm glow inside of the satisfaction on being shrewd. If you have a brilliant dealer less than 5 miles away thats open bank holidays and sundays. Probably no point.

  21. Not like this, but you do see the problems of everyone making there buck and off they go. The original land owner sold the land didnt care The builder bunged in maximum houses for maximum return. Paving gang laid pavers took their money and left. Now you have your client who doesn't want to look at new houses. And the neighbour with the extensive shading and moving hard sufaces, looks bad and leads to trip hazards. Selfish greedy and lack of foresight. Makes more problems for the world. Like the burying of rubble/rubbish on new builds. Its going to annoy someone at some point.
  22. Looking at top pic its only the heartwood not the living sapwood. You can just see a slither of heartwood in that picture. I assume its because the living wood pushes life in nutrients and water around, whereas the heartwood is static and just absorbs and decays downwards from point of entry, then anerobic activity takes over. Thats only my theory. Im just working class. A biologist may come along soon.
  23. I wouldn't be convinced of its integrity with my life on it. But for a repetitive use situation it could be a time saver.
  24. Greedy robbing scumbags. That is low IMO:thumbdown: This sort of non proffessionalism needs stamping out.
  25. Well sometimes those with these kind of jobs. believe they know it all. But expect you to be better because you read there brilliant minds. However if the consultant is a team player from a background of actually doing the job. It should be made easier. Ive only worked with one and he boiled my blood. Im not pigeon holing, and reckon all consultants on here will be pretty good as they realise learning is an ongoing game and have a genuine interest.
