  1. Got to agree, only cleaners that get paid a low rate put rubbish in your bin. If you chop a tree done and leave it for them. Its usually reflected in the price.
  2. :thumbup1:Whoops, thanks Spud. Got to agree with all reasons. Sorry Barrie all these "proper tools" are a load of unnesassary clutter .
  3. That reminds me. Bitches kill grass with their urine. If you put vinegar in their drinking water it cures this problem.
  4. Workmate had this recently £60 call out £30 for new oven element instead he paid £28 for new oven element and fitted himself. It was an idiot proof connection that only went one way. I assume these companies work tight geographical areas. Save on fuel do minimum of 4 jobs a day. Take quid coins out washing machine filters out of bimbos washing machines etc. I tend to try and fix which works in most cases or replace.
  5. You do get lucky sometimes..... But its usually the saw that finds it.
  6. No I did keep female goats years ago hence the nickname. Never had a beard wetting Billy, or otherwise. The reason I started this is Im intrigued and like to be resourceful. Im not a hoarder, but if you can put something you are getting rid of to good use, may as well whilst your at it. Knowing the various characters and knowledge we have on here. I knew we could outdo The Encyclopedia Britanica in a couple of days on any subject.
  7. They do earn a good whack for a relatively unqualified, unregulated line of work. With low start up and running costs. However a few I know have had nasty falls and a good friend of mine will never be independant again. It is an instant calamity profession. I personally would chuck it in a week due to boredom and lack of challenge and stimulus. You can't fantasise over upgrading from a 300mm squeege to the 450mm double swipe anti smear version like you would something with an engine fitted. Money certainly isn't everything!!! I reckon Stephen Blair too would cease to exist after a month of sponge and squeege.
  8. Hi all. I assume this has been tackled before on the threads. But I don't know to use really for words in the search. A friend has a husky 235 with the daft tamperproof carb screws. The saw is running silly and not behaving. Is their a simple fix. My thoughts are hacksaw a groove spin them out and get new screws. Any ideas? Feel free to pm me or put it on here for others to benefit. I do have photos to show saw and model numbers. Will put them up later if needed when I get back.
  9. As above some posts like employment have replies switched off.
  10. Bit a bizzare one I know. I do know the following and have proved them to myself 1. Pee on a conifer (leylandii) that part will go brown and die off. 2. Pee on daisies in the lawn and the will die out, may need repeat doses. Put it in a watering can first if your neighbours can see you! The following Ive heard but not proven by experimentation Male human urine applied at your boundaries is said to keep foxes away.I have not had success with this but a friend in town cured the visits from Mr fox with this. Weeing on your hands if you have dermatitis will get rid of it. Applications unknown. Applying it to the compost bin the nitrogen is said to be beneficial to decomposing the high carbon materials. I would prefer to keep this thread intelligent. But no doubt the " Are you taking the pee!" comments will follow, but I just wondered how useful is this stuff. After all the addblue exhaust additive now used in modern clean burn diesels is urea based I understand.
  11. Can verify the addiction. We did once seem to wean a lister single cylinder diesel in a winget ( i think) dumper so it would hand crank up but the softer lads let it relapse. It does work however.
  12. If you are like me, you will find HGV driving unfulfilling. I'd recommend hanging on to it for 6 months see how the job goes. All the best with it though and I hope its a job that you are physically active for periods as well. I find i eat less, yet can put half a stone on in 2 weeks when driving.
  13. PLEASE PLEASE do not use steel nails. Someday somebody will curse what you did when they are cutting through it with whatever type of saw they are using. Drill the holes in the boxes ready and if you really have to use nails use aluminum. They are available in DIY stores hardware merchants, screwfix etc. A birdbox is for a few years until it drops off. The nail is in the tree for as long as its woody. Nails devalue timber and are an bodged eyesore
  14. I bought it as a teenager, still have it.
  15. Nah! you are a man of dark arts that are frowned upon by some and viewed suspiously by others. Having used my dark arts 346xp that you spuderized for the last three months. Today I used my bigger untouched 357xp. I could of run on the chain like a treadmill. (hyperbole Jesus used them) Porting really does work. Im a convert. You werent in Gods garden. We got kicked out of Eden.
  16. I tried kindling this year. Bought in 200 nets. Sold about 25. Moral of the story can you do it competitively? Will you have alot on hand come warmer weather. Coal merchants do it for a living, they are set up to handle it right though to your coal bunker.
  17. As for sentimental trees. I felled leylandii that my Grandad ( He died 28 years ago and yes he was a top friend)planted due to practical reasons. If they had blown the wrong way, powerlines would of gone with them.
  18. Your friend took advantage, you have done a sterling job. My advice would be don't do it again. Charity when its genuine is ok but, they were just tight and lied. They should've had them dropped to the floor. Lots of people out there now wanting a quick fix then neglect them to repeat the cycle and though its beyond them to do it. They don't want to pay.
  19. Link didn't work for me. Just a youtube homepage
  20. Thanks for the link. I get a heck of alot of useful info on arbtalk......yet I went to google first this time and spent hours looking at stuff that is no good to me:blushing: Next time I will start in the search box here.
  21. Thanks Barrie, have sent an email.
  22. To resurrect an older thread. Was any advancement made with anyones charcoal making? I hope to have ago this year whilst working in the woods. I plan on doing a bit of blacksmithing. Therefore would like to burn brash to cook charcoal. Retort style. I also plan on using an airline from compressor to a homemade old brakedrum forge. I also have many other dreams yet to realise:001_rolleyes: I will post if I get that far. Also are you still after barrels with lids Chris? If I come across any.
  23. Anything in the kitchen. I can be as delicate as needed on tools, quick, even skillfull. But in the kitchen everything doesnt seem to work for me. Ive just had a struggle with the electric tin opener. My wife just offers the tin to opener it whizzes round job done. Me everytime I have to try then analyze why it doesnt engage. GGGrrrrrrrhhhhh
  24. Im back again. does anybody know where I can source Kohler parts. It is the K181 that 2 stroke ady mentions I can only find moderner engines online in the uk. I have tried DIYspares as I am hoping to compile an order to them shortly. I have spent a few hours browsing websites just to confirm the type variant and carb type.
  25. It always amazes me how the hitch couplings and their fittings hang in there. Did the driver admit to driving quickly? I made a bigger mess of a landrover pulling a trailer 12 years ago. I was only doing 40mph and due to broken spring leaves on the trailer it just snaked everywhere. Pictures are early digital days:001_rolleyes:
