    Husky sprockets!

Not a temptation. Rather a forward thinking decision to improve efficiency. You will either spend less time using your 346, or get more done in the same amount of time. Its an investment that will pay back. Its a bit like going from a DIY store brand saw to a pro saw. I may be exaggerating a little, but not alot. Also its not irreversible. Its a shame the manufacturers have their hands tied with regulations that they cannot make them like this to start with.

Same opinion as stubby. Spud ported my 346xp in December and put it on an 8 rim on it with 13 inch bar. It is fantastic in cutting speed and power. However even with it ported you need to be revving fully to keep it going. I use my other 346xpg(unported) with a 7 tooth rim and unless Im going through twigs soon pick up the ported one again. Unless you are going through very soft timber such as spruce your saw will bog down alot with a 13 inch bar on 8 tooth rim, unless you get it ported and keep the chain sharp.
  6. Excellent choice of saw. Not stirring up the H vs S debate. A comfy saw for many hours work. I got 2 because Im not convinced I will get something as good for me again.
  7. And "Hard case" in NZ is a good thing whereas in Britain its a fearless or unyielding stubborn person. Another NZder is acknowledging everything you say with "True!"
  8. I was impressed with a curved decking path I saw at Whangeri tourist info center in NZ last December. It was a wiggle, I remember looking but I didnt take a photo sorry
  9. You are kind Rob. Don't know of another retailer that advises customers so open and honestly.
  10. From mainstream trashy media of current "coolness" OMG, god Jesus or derivations of. When people have to use it every sentence due to lack of brain use it annoys me. Also its disrespectful. I sometimes counter each time with "Where?" or "Whats its got to do with him?" most peopl soon get as irritated as I am and develop a better use of speech. One lad was persistant and enjoyed being irritating. But he soon got mad and changed his ways when he would say God, I'd say " who?" followed by his dads full name. He worshiped his dad who was an army major or some title. He benefitted by vocabulary improvement. Funny how people never blaspheme Allah or Mohammed. Buddha etc. Oh and why do you have dogging(there is a whole other term) spikes on a chainsaw? Even if its because they bite the wood. Dogs only chew it.
  11. If a jobs worth doing, real arb lads do it properly:001_tt2: weekend project fast forward the tedium and you have 90 seconds of pimp my truck quality viewing. You just dont show the dust in eyes, depression, lack of sleep in the vid:thumbup:
  12. But it will give the right elbow a rest from being knocked and more room for a change:001_smile:
  13. Maybe should of called the thread. Annoying words you hate to hear. For that matter "chillax" and blah blah..... lol! its habitually put in everywhere eg. " My grandad died, I can't go to work today, LOL!!!!!" I do use the smilie on here but to show Im amused!
  14. Thanks amfell will have a look, knowledge is power:thumbup:
  15. Was only thinking at the weekend what silly words we use that these days don't make sense. Then TCD let rip in the Cord wood thread:angryfire: How many do we use or come across. I'll start with two Grip = a ditch in a wooded area. It hangs on to nothing! Ride = Stupid term for a track through woodland, probably from "Tally Ho!" days When you have to explain bizzare names for simple stuff. Its time to update. We no longer talk king James style.
  16. Pinball style tree felling!
  17. A cord is a USA volume measurement. Cordwood is felled but unprocessed firewood. Thats the gist anyway.
  18. You dont say what sort it is. But Would it be worth disconnecting lights(if they are attatched) take ram pin out and rear hinge, then put it on its side or on the floor. Less bits in eyes and less neckache.
  19. Also available in orange, saw it a while back wasn't too convinced. Good to hear rave reviews. TimberTool? Tree-Felling Jack | Portable Sawmills & Forestry Equipment - Norwood Sawmills
  20. It would be good speculative based on experience though:thumbup: I will post results if I make progress, Its one of those lying around unfinished projects:001_rolleyes:
  21. Help required, I have a Turner 30" pedestrian flail mower that needs new tyres and other bits and pieces. It has governor springs and guards missing. I will make guards myself. I did ask for help on this machine a while back in another thread but cannot find any useful diagrams etc. I have just looked on the kohler engines website as that is what I suspect it is. However I do not know what the engine is. Where will I find serial numbers or other useful info? Also will it need a valve regrind, as I suspect its a legacy from leaded 4 star days? The engine looks like this Turner pedestrian operated flail mower............22" industrial rough cut mower | eBay
  22. You need to give a better estimate of volume or pictures with houses or something to give scale. Also access for truck? Can you sort loading etc. Its not worth much in my experience, but I do prefer timber to go to good use.
  23. I think he is a joiner or cabinet maker as well, I seem to remember reading in another thread. Mixing his skills and testing his freehand maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. Just what I thought! The Bamboo doesn't bother me, its the knots, this is a 9 year old photo from a visit to Hong Kong.
  25. I assume because you didn't get the roof on in time?
