  1. Looks like a nice place to take the family, where is that Andy?
  2. Hi there. Tried to send a PM but your inbox is full.

  3. Wont be going to the show now, curse my lack of currency! Here's me anyway. (The one on the left!)
  4. Mmm...pie I guess so, more people tightening the purse strings. I'm barely ticking over, but then I'm a relative newcomer, more established firms may be doing better.
  5. I'll try to keep the big 31 under wraps this year then!
  6. Good luck with your future. It's a quiet time of year, school hols coming up, but also work is dead in general I think. The market is saturated, too many people want a piece of a small pie.
  7. I would get a professional arborist in for the higher branches.
  8. I'd be up for my first arbtalk recreational climb!
  9. Nice one James. I love jobs like that, just left to get on with it and a real difference made at the end of the day.
  10. Dear Arbtalkers. My name is Neil Frost and am posting a new advert for my services. I am self-employed with £5mil PL insurance and a full clean driving licence (no towing.) All the standard CS units, plus level 2 cert in arb and First Aid. I have worked for and with several members of Arbtalk and am happy to provide references upon request. I do not shy away from hard work and do not grumble. I'm still relatively new to the job, 6 months arb experience, and my climbing is still developing. I will tell you what I can and can't do and am always eager to learn and try new things that I haven't experienced, such as large-scale forestry, woodland management etc. I currently live in Suffolk, but am willing to travel nationwide for work as long as it's financially viable. Also will consider work abroad. Capable of a wide variety of work, arb, forestry, soft landscaping, and have used some machinery, teleporter etc. Have my own saws and climbing kit, plus brushcutters, hedgetrimmers etc. CV and copies of NPTC units/insurance available on request and I can be reached via PM, email ([email protected]) or mobile (07812 020457).
  11. Mine was all a bit of a blur as my assessor was being assessed on the day of my 31. As my mate was snedding, they stopped him and said that the way he was doing it (the way we were shown at college) was wrong. Can't remember the details as it was all a load of cobblers anyway, but essentially the bar should always be moving away from you. To be honest just do it the way you were shown. So I basically have just wasted a minute of your life!
  12. Sure, I'll protect the C of E throughout Suffolk! Will have to get a cape designed!

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
