  1. Carbon buildup in exhaust port?
  2. A yew log rolled off the back of the truck and hit me on the bridge of my nose, whilst me and the new boy were unloading it, he said sorry. I said 'don't worry, it's no skin off my nose....' 'Oh, maybe it is.'
  3. Not used imori, however a pantin might help with long hauls. Cheaper alternative to a new rope.
  4. Thank you Andrew. Much appreciated.
  5. Hello all again. Looking for odd days here and there. If anyone needs a hard-working groundy for any days in the above-stated week then give me a shout via PM. I' m based in sunny Colchester and will travel sensible distances. Also have a base in London and can travel to sites in the big city via Tube, but obviously if travelling by tube I can only bring PPE. Otherwise I can bring own saws, fuel, climbing kit for rescue or little jobs. Day rate for me and PPE = £90 Day rate for me, PPE and tools/fuel/kit = £110 Self-employed and qualified and experienced. I always bring my tickets with me along with a sensible head, a strong pair of hands, and a full flask of tea. So, if you need a hand week beginning 25th March or beyond, get in touch. Many thanks Arbtalk, keep up the good work!
  6. Hi mate. Loving the thread as usual. Is there too much friction on the ZZ from 13mm?
  7. There were 2 trucks. 1 had black greedy boards and there was a jensen chipper. Was off to work so couldn't stop.
  8. I sent an email to the TO about that one! Pass it nearly every day and saw the "tree contractors" turn up on site. Trucks not signwritten so couldn't tell who they were.
  9. Niwaki - Japanese Tripod Ladders, Fine Pruning Tools & Other Great Stuff from Japan It's not really a pruning saw, it's meant to fell and process small trees.
  10. I'm at home at mo thanks to the snow, and whilst I love looking after my boy, I feel terrible guilt at not working. Regularly have 2-3 days off a week this time of year, and it's great watching my son grow up. But then it's bill paying time and I don't feel so great!
  11. Hey mate, Well done on your new job mate, bet you're chuffed to bits! Sent you a PM earlier but yer inbox is full. Mr Popular!
  12. Typical, you come up to Suffolk just after I've moved to Essex! Be good to work together again one day bud, I'll keep you in mind.
  13. Hey Silky. Only just saw this thread, too busy looking after little 'un to go on Arbtalk! Glad to see things are better for you now mate. It was a pleasure to meet you on that hot crazy day! Would be awesome to pop by Kew when I'm next in town to say hello. Things are slackening off for me a bit now, so I might take a leaf out of your book and drum up some work! Take care mate!
  14. Instead of 'topping,' you could recommend that they be pollarded properly. Just a thought.
  15. Still finding Plane dust in various orifices! Mate, was great working with you, trying to have a laugh amongst adversity! See you tomorrow for the finale! Hope the weather holds for a finishing lunge!
  16. Nice job, bet the view from the top was cracking!
