  1. Here ya go http://www.stihlusa.com/stihl_ownersmanuals/MS441_Manual.pdf
  2. Yep. We have a natural Ash deadwood monolith caused but dryads saddle and mellea. When they were "together" they bickered about its demise. Eventually its crown dropped and they were both happy as one of them wanted the crown removing the other wanted it deadwooding and reducing to make it safe.
  3. We did have the luxury of two TO's at our local district council. one of them has a masters in fungal ecology the other (now left) had 20 years of being a tree surgeon under his belt. They were as differnet as chalk and cheese. The one with the masters was all about monitoring, no matter how many targets, defects or fruiting bodies (had 2 trees fail and cause damage during his monitoring). The ex-tree surgeon was all about spotting defects and reacting accordingly.
  4. I would pollard it down to its lowest union point (just above fracture). Even if it dies it can still be there for the bugs n beasties.
  5. Would prefer a santana 110 to a land rover 110 as the santana has a 2.7l iveco engine rather than a 2.4 ford.
  6. Spend it on MSN, MySpace and Facebook.
  7. Nope bug eaters. So unless you got flies hanging around ya you'll be fine
  8. I have passed the 1000 posts mark.
  9. Greater Horseshoe judging by his/her horseshoe shaped nose and large ears.
  10. Cleaning the family and work vehicles. Winds my sister up a treat as i have blocked the drain 3 times but very quickly unblocked .
  11. Tis a cracking movie but cant wait for the new Transformers movie. from what i've read its darker and has less of a childish theme about it.
  12. When i went to download last year i made the good move of booking the day before the start and a few days after off. First time i went i only booked the time off when it was running. Big mistake. Was hanging for a few days after and i was strimming as well. Not a good combo.
  13. Cleared up within a couple of weeks which was helpful. Only had 3 days off work as well.
  14. Pictures are enough proof that the limb was damaged before failing. If the land owner chose not to do anything about it before it failed then its between him and the utility company. On our travels we've seen really dodgy (split, hanging) limbs on and over utility wires. Last one we saw was a 60 foot oak with a heavy lean on it as soon as we alerted the land owner and utility company they were out there by that time the tree had hit the 150,000 volt wire and the tree had become ash within a few hours.
  15. yep will have to. you going to cla game fair this year?
  16. cant remember m8. will let ya know nearer the time
  17. Yup. staying at a friends farm bout 300 yards from main gate. not gonna pay to camp at leeds lol. more expensive than download lol
  18. Download and Leeds and Reading:thumbup:
  19. I live in a town but am a true country boy. always want to live in the country but houseprices are too high.
  20. That looks like a really old pollard. Only thing i can see that needs doing to it is the lower laterals need taking off as their end weight would potentially cause the limb to snap but other that that nice tree with some strong unions.
  21. Think so too. Probably more like 4k rather than 40k. But still been given his marching orders quickly which is amazing and helpful. Just wait to see where he goes after this.
  22. Had call from local housing agency he has been thrown out from the property and the courts have fined him £40,000 and ordered to pay for court costs. He has been a repeat offender with fly tipping on this site so we are really glad we caught him in the act. The asbestos ash/pulp has been collected by specialist contractors and they have put down fresh topsoil and grass seed. Wait and see how long it takes for a new matress fire or garden waste fire takes to appear.
