    winch job

    dynamite?
  2. well u could always have both if u get a winning lottery ticket for christmas!!!
  3. personally would steer away from quads as they are highly prized by thieves and tend to be a bit limited with what you can do other than tow with it. Also don't expect a winch on a quad to last long on long hard pulls frequently. Personally i'd go down the boxer root or perhaps alpine tractor and these would be much more efficient on fuel use i should think especially if you go down diesel route!
  4. IMO of using our manitou with hydraulic attachments on there wouldn't be enough flow to produce enough power at a decent speed for a saw bench! Don't quote but i think there's only about 50-60litres/min at the front of the telehandler. Enough to run a good size ram, but hydraulic motors though we do use them on things do struggle to get enough power and speed!
  5. i'd go with harcore as its the full solution, also quads are much more desirable to knick than hardcore:001_tongue:
  6. not sure if this helps but i copied that video to build one similar to it, problem i had was you had to have a large diameter (ended up 100mm cyclinder with 50mm rod) ram so that on the 'return' stroke it'd have enough force to split the log. But i gave up with it and cut it up to make standard vertical one with a big table. Bit rings say 3ft diameter were difficult to move across to other side without falling over and knotted wood was just difficult to get through it as it split in funny shapes and ended up jamming in knives even with them being tapered. Bloody good if u have straight wood like he has, would recommend it, but i end up with funny shaped twisted knotty stuff half the time so it didn't work for me. Be interested if you do build one how you get on!!!
  7. not enough spalting needs another year or two outside in the rain! Shame nice straight trunk!
  8. the joys of ebay eh? annoying when it goes against you like that but thats the nature of the beast!
  9. well all i can say is good luck, this sounds like a nightmare job. As you say always be civil to the point it makes you sick, even if she gets abussive. Always makes me chuckle when someone wants you to fight back and all you do is be super sickly nice and leave them looking like a plonker! Perhaps ask your client if it could not wait until the horses are moved and explain your position, if he insists on it being done then you'll have to go with it and cross your fingers it goes ok!
  10. accupuncture, has worked me me incredibly well on a bad back so i'd try it on an elbow. Nothing to loose except bit of money i guess, i'd tried everything for my back, even brought one of them fancy foam matress things which made it alot worse, then changed back manipulater (no hope of speeling the big word after a strong vodka) and he stuck in some needlesacross my back and neck, after 4wks it was spot on after 12months of agony and nobody or nothing seeming to help it. Didn't fancy the needles after he showed how long they were and where they were going but its better than back pain and taking painkillers all the time!!!
  11. Under mint (similar stuff but very minty!!!!) is good for aching joints and muscles, u stink like trebor extra stronrg mints and u don't wanna leave a bit on ur hands then have a pee cuz it'll make ur eyes water and things tingle where they've never tingled before!!!!
  12. I ran it in my 880 sunday for few hours, an expensive saw to run it on i know but i don't use it from time to time for a month or two so am hoping it will save it degrading also the health benfits are worth the cost for what i use! She seems to run fine on it, perhaps no so good at starting but that may have me been getting tired:001_huh: Might try 200l drum next time but will take me a while to use that much, but much easier not having to phaff about mixing to correct mixtures just pour it in and off i go!!! My disc cutter loves the stuff and its so much better smeling in confined spaces its go to be better!!
  13. ah now i know where ur coming from........good luck with that and i'm sure it'll be worth it in the end!!!
  14. cripes, that must be some serious stuff to keep you up like that.
  15. try reading this and see if you can fit into it. Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme (FFIS) don't be fooled that the grants for farmers are always useful, its a goverment policy so its not quite where it could be to make the most of the scheme for both sides!
  16. i wish somebody would take the law from sod cuzs its rarely helpful!
  17. problem with having grease nipples on bearings is u'll either get the user who doesn't grease or the one who over greases them. Both methods causing them to fail prematurely, often the bearing is undersized IMO and a slightly bigger ungreased bearing would never fail, but that'd up production costs and reduce parts sales (though not sure many would buy bearings from manufacturer?)
  18. when u say don't work, do u mean it doesn't fire at all but just cranks over or it fires a bit then stops of runs rough but not for long??? I can't offer any easy answers as usually a diesel will run happily with a little petrol in it, but maybe the cars injection system can't handle to 'thinner' petrol mix and is failing to operate at normal working pressure?
  19. I'd never put anything in our tractors that doesn't come from the new holland dealership or filters for that matter. Simply because out of all the costs its tiny and i don't want to wonder when it breaks down or blows up wether it was the cheap oil and filters i put on!! Probably costs me £700 to service our big tractors 2 or 3 times a year (now on 600hr service intervals) but compared to the 250litre's of diesel a day it burns its a tiny cost that can cause many problems in my eyes and ultimately its not a cheap tractor to fix or be without! Fit the best and when it breaksdown you know u've done ur best to avoid it!
  20. where are you from????
  21. good point but not one i'm buying into! sorry:biggrin:
  22. personally i think they're rare because they are not what they're cracke dup to be, but never used one so can't say from experience TBH Why not buy a cheaper telehandler and small tractor?
  23. more than a bit breezy here, just been outside and nearly got blown away and washed away! Me thinks there maybe no electic by the morning but perhaps some firewood to make up?
  24. i honestly thought it was to help shed the rain from the top of the cut!!! Good plan!
  25. glad i'm not the only one to think it was bloody hard work giving money away!!! Thought i was making a meal of it but glad someone else thought it were time consuming!
