  1. leather lined Le Chameau? I have a pair size 9 hardly worn for sale
  2. I agree that a good osteopath is important. I broke my back and am now paralysis chest down. Continued working as headgroundsman at a hotel with 100 acres and our own deerpark. I also visit spinal injury centres giving advice. I hope your hubby makes a full recovery but life goes on for us all. I have got through a few wheelchairs in the last 9 years lol
  3. Best applied in late spring when the weeds are growing will. Correctly applied at the advised dosage should not affect trees
  4. As self employed if you are off work due to illness or injury for more that 3 days you will be able to claim ESA. This benefit is available to anyone that can not get statuatory sick pay. If you have made your NI contributions then you will have no problems
  5. Try contacting the local agri/horticultural college
  6. It would be normal to lay a membrane to suppress the weeds before putting stone down on a border. However if there are no perenial weeds already there and you can remove the annual weeds as soon as they appear then this is not essential. To calculate how much stone you will need a tonne of stone is about 0.6 of a cubic metre. 50mm of stone is the max this is 0.05 of a metre. Multiply this by the width and length in metres to get the cubic metre of stone required. I see no reason to remove any soil unless adding the stone would raise the level unacceptably.
  7. fittest early 30s but was still as strong in mid 40s. After i broke my back my arms got even stronger but now at 54 I get more aches and pains lol
  8. cider it is mines a pint:thumbup:
  9. need not be square could be nearly rhomboid so area could be as you said or near to zero
  10. As area 1 is also a quadrilateral and you only know the dimentions and no angles or diagonal then you can not say the area either so give back your fee please lol
  11. This is your best chance to get rid of any perenial weeds like docks and dandilions. they will certainly not be killed by mowing so spray first, rotavate, seed.
  12. do not try to remove any weeds first as any roots would grow back. round up needs a good amount of leaf area to work. once it is on the soil it is inactivated so as soon as the ground has been rotavated you can get on with reseeding. do not think applying more roundup that recommended with be better as it will just be a waste.
  13. how big is the area? what soil type?(sand, loam or clay)
  14. very good advice above but if you apply roundup when plants are growing fast and actively then after 10 days it will have fully translocated into the roots and will kill effectively. 21 days if a little colder and plants growing less active
  15. it would be best to use a general purpose grass seed not one for fine lawns unless you want to mow twice a week. Wilkos sell good seed. apply at 50gms per square metre.
  16. Use roundup or other glyphosate weed killer. Leave about 10 days before rotavating. Then do as said above. grass seeds will grow very fast if put on late august early september. I have done it and been mowing in 3 weeks
  17. I am a good landscaper and I am also a full time wheelchair user. Compacted woodchip is a very good surface for wheelchairs. Slopes should be kept to 1:12 for an average wheelchair user. I do agree that you are a little cheep and with experience I am sure you will get this right. Leveling ground requires skill and a technique called cut and fill which means taking ground from the higher places and moving it into the lower ground. If you require plants to grow you need to ensure that there is sufficient top soil so this may need stripping off first and then level the subsoil otherwise just level. I would be happy to offer any more advice both as an experienced groundsman or as a wheelchair user.
  18. I have made candles by splitting part way then holding split open with small stick. Quicker than sawing
  19. i never needed password before
  20. I cannot get in the chat now. it asks for a password
  21. I used to drive a 6700 and we used to consider 10 000 to be the limit if well cared for. Check the clutch and look at the oil in the back axle. They had a habit of chewing up the hydraulic pumps so if any metal in the oil beware.
  22. was part of officer training. I failed my 3rd gym test with 70 in a minute cuz I had not improved lol
  23. can not do press ups now due to being paralysed chest down but when in 20s i would do 70 controlled perfet pressups in one minute, did that in RAF gym tests. When in early 40s i would do 200 in ten sets of 20 with 30 second rests between sets
