  1. I always used Red Fluid Grease, regular. Never had a bearing fail and too old to change habits now.
  2. Hi Rich I think the Drift comes with everything. Mine had curved and flat brackets for surfaces like a helmet (curved) of surf board (flat) also handle bar bracket which I used on a strimmer, you can turn them all shapes so it covers almost all the likely events. It does fit a helmet well and after a rock hit me from about 20 feet I was glad I didnt stick it on the top of my helmet and went for the side instead but it could just as easily hit the side, its down to luck then. All I can say is if the rock did hot it direct I think the Drift would stand a better chance than the GoPro. There is a smaller Drift out maybe worth looking at, the GoPro seems to be used on programs like Ice Road Truckers but if they were given them free to try out it would have been a good advert for them. The plus side of gopro is you can use on a harnes on your chest facing forward but if your climbing it wouldnt work for that, you have to know what you want it for. I got a bigger battery for mine and now getting a good few hours recording unlike the gopro which was I think 2 & 1/2 hours tops. And with the new Drift is it easy to change lens if they get damaged but I never seen one wrecked yet despite them looking like they would be vulnerable. recording quality is swings & roundabouts, so what maybe good for one thing is not for another. To end with I think the Drift with bigger battery will out record the latest gopro also it is much more streamlined. If your climbing you dont want anything sticking out 9 inches (yer you wish:lol:) and it's sure to get snagged at some time. I am happy with my Drift 170 stealth, havent tried the new smaller Drift but would look into that if I was getting another cam. Good luck, look around for the best deal
  3. All I can say is try some Aspen for yourself and compare it with normal petrol mix, if your eyes have watered, your nose run like a tap or your head ache like the hang over from hell then I am sure you will find Aspen will work for you. Maybe not if your up a tree on a windy day, you probably wouldnt even smell the fumes and may think "what is the fuss about". If one smokes 20 fags a day it probably dont matter what fuel one uses and maybe leave you thinking why spent the extra on a clean fuel:confused1: But when you come to take your saw apart for that five year plug change and blow over with an air line then find it needs a decoke:sneaky2: you will see just how clean Aspen burns, and of course you can leave it in the saw all year:thumbup1: without it going off. Ok, many use their saws every day so fuel is not going to be in the saw long enough to go off, but you will need to change fuel lines etc because they just fall apart with the currant crap fuel and it will get worse in the future when they refine it (stretch that barrel into two barrels) and still charge us the same, no it will cost more because of course!! there is a shortage all down to "terrorism" Yer right who the F.... believes all that now Sorry for the moan especially at xmas, we use fuel we need fuel they all know it and will never make it cheaper like red, the only reason red is cheaper now is because it has been for so long and if government stopped that farmers would be up in arms big time and they all know it. That would be the straw that broke the camels back, and the sooner that back is broken...... BUT, thats another story
  4. I wouldnt think so, but who knows.......some tw*ts will do anything to get into films:lol: Wouldnt let him near anything of mine thats for sure
  5. I'm a regular here too, must be one of the best threads world wide Well done Steve and all contributors Merry Christmas everyone and a safe new year:thumbup1: [/img]
  6. By the time you spend out trying to save, it will cost you more in the long run. Buy new and they will last you forever if looked after
  7. NEW ZAMA Z & WALBRO W CARBURETOR METERING LEVER TOOLS | eBay Dont know how the price compaires but remember someone mention they were looking for one:thumbup1:
  8. I had a Merc van and the manual said to add so many % of parafine to stop waxing, them were the days pre refineries adding anti waxing. Also the days when parafine was cheap! I never had any trouble in 20 years with waxing diesel I just use Morrisons forecourt pump stuff (to get the points) but I know a BP garage down the road has had issues with water in fuel so maybe you had some water mixed in your tank?
  9. They come under a few names but Trail cam sort of covers it, I was thinking of getting one to put in a wood and see what is coming to feed. Alternatively you could use them as a security cam in your yard or wherever, some use a black light flash others infra red which is similar but a faint red glow but giving more range in teh dark down side is the red glow maybe seen:sneaky2: Has anyone got one, used one, thinking of one for xmas:confused1: over to you
  10. I have a mate who has eaten squirrel for so many years he cant remember how long, as long as they are health animals I can see no problem. Nature has her own way of weeding out the sick so if you know where it came from you should be ok. just watch out for this bugger [/img]
  11. call me old fashion but a tape dont go wrong ps; but the reader often does, its called being human

  13. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bqnvKRfc8bM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> dahm why cant i post a vid here :-(
  14. great vid TM, would make a great advert:thumbup1:
  15. husky most of the time, tried stihl but never seemed to be as good (on power and general handling) I think at top level its down to personal preference they both do good machines that do the job. but i am sticking with husky i like the way they "used" to make them, still on the fence with the two top handle saws (I say the "two" because mainly or the majority use Stihl 200T or Husqvarna 336T) maybe we need a pole of ALL saws!
  16. you dont need them:lol:
  17. Me too, very good service and always a pleasure to deal with you can spend hours looking for the best price then wonder why. When you get great service and deals from F R Jones:thumbup:
  18. stihl hp ultra 1L £23.50 or £3.70 one shot petrol 1L £1.34 5L mixed £10.40 5L Aspen 2 £18 something, may sound a lot but guaranteed pure. How much do you value trouble free running? How often I seen water in supermarket forecourt petrol and the pumps not delivering what they show on the meter. My car holds 70L it was 1/4 full and when the meter at the pump was still going after passing 70 llitres I stopped. I know when its getting close it cuts off! Told the young girl the pump was wrong all I got back was "oh, its been ok all day" could have made a fuss but she was on her own over stressed & under paid and as normal it was rush hour so crazy. never been back there & never will F%&%@@ crooks I know I should have not paid and had them check it but was off on holiday next morning and just wanted to get home
  19. Drift 170 stealth, after looking around for a very long time I got one last year. The go pro looks like it wont last long being very vulnerably but they are used a lot on programs like axmen etc, but they dont mind if one gets smashed... we do. The battery life on the stealth is very good but I got the bigger capacity one just in case, to be honest I should have saved the money as the standard on is fine. It fits nice on a helmet of car windscreen but seen them on bikes, fixed mine on a strimmer shaft just playing around and it worked great esspecially with the remote on my wrist, very handy if your up a tree and want to turn it on/off. They now make a shorter version that is exactly the same only smaller and lens are replacable in case you are unlucky. Worth a look, I am glad I did. Oh and you can play back & view on the screen which some cams dont have so you can adjust on your helmet and check before you start so your sure your going to have a good shot. Instead of get home and look what you shot then disapointed because it wasnt giving you the coverage you thought it was. Also check you can zoom or use wide angle before you dive in and buy any other cam on price alone. good luck & look forward to some good vids
  20. I used to wash caving ropes in any cloths washing liquid we had at the time but that was many years ago. These days I would use ecover non-bio delicate, good stuff made for wool etc so not harsh. Or better still use SoapNuts these are great and been using them all summer with every day washing, well worth trying but if you expect it to remove oil on work trousers it will need a little help. We dont use any powder liquid now that is full of nasty crap but smells nice, we are conned into thinking if it smells nice it is clean. if you do try soapnuts, soak them in the little bag for 10 mins in warm water (i use an old coffee jar for this) then tip it all into the machine, you get 4-5 washes out of a few nuts so it works out cheap, you dont need fabric conditioner.
  21. Interesting because (going from memory which isnt that good) Silkolene 2 stroke is mainly for mx/off road comp engines which are now mostly water cooled and in their blurb it says somewhere for watercooled, and I read in a few places not to use that type of oil in air cooled:confused1: Not sure if thats down to running temp or clearances with water cooled closer tolerances. Over to the tech staff:001_tt2: Where do you get your Redline? remember Bell oil (sure it was that) years ago ran at upto 100/1 yet again going from memory so could be out there:blushing: Come on you young uns, give me a break..... it was before you were born
  22. True sorry, pulled up at Tesco after driving past a white van with bags of spuds for sale with man & girl selling them. Done my shopping and who is outside the same tesco loading bags of spuds to sell 200 yards down the road at the car park entrance. Yep the very same white van couple talking in a very irish slippery tongue (nothing against the Irish have some great Irish friends would trust with my life) Sadly there is one born every minute that thinks they are getting something cheaper, like spuds on the side of the road:lol: You gota laugh at the cheek and they certainly got plenty of that. Got a farmer friend who had dogs out to keep unwanted white van folk away, he woke one morning dog was dead poisoned and barn been raided, saws gone:sneaky2: Police couldnt do anything nothing new there eh:blushing:
  23. they drive into yards, farms, anywhere with a range of excuses like "im only turning around sir" or "any scrap sir" then a few weeks later you start to miss the odd item, even been known to take a plough and trailer. no come backs its easy money, makes you wonder why everyone dont do it for a living:sneaky2: They must take a lot of sleeping tablets thats all I can think of:confused1:
  24. Not many berries about and not a good year for them so I am going for wet/mild/dark/windy a bit like summer really:lol:
  25. Anyone had experience or know a good one, so many for sale now it just makes it more complicated and the price can be anything from around £70 at Asda to over £300 online, with loads around the middle make. All I want really is to fix to a tree and capture animals day & night, but could be used for security too (and wired up to a gun) So has anyone got one, would they recommend a make or size
