  1. Before I had a chipper I often found it cheaper getting someone with a chipper to turn andchip for me, saved me running round collecting and returning machine, also you don't have the concern of hired in plant insurance. Just have to stack branches till they turn up, might be worth a try.
  2. I'm gonna say the stilh 020av. My first climbing saw in the early 90's. Reliable and indestructible , yeah there heavier than the modern equivalent, but I was younger back then lol. Plus no annoying carb issues
  3. Think that might be it, the one with the manual oiler? it's in shop a min being serviced and repaired so I can sell it. Figured it would be good as a second big saw for someone or for milling. Think it's running a 33 inch bar at minute
  4. Had this saw kicking round for a while, am struggling to find any technical info about it. Anyone any ideas? Tried husky website but can only find bright shiny new saws
  5. Faulty on off switch is usually fixed by replacing a small piece of wire which costs £1.50 and takes 5 to 10 mins. Did they service it at same time?
  6. I did it a couple of years ago, moved from Oxford to Chesterfield. It ain't easy leaving an existing business that makes you a living, find yourself Subbie work, get to know as many people as you can, takes the burden off finding your own work. It builds up slowly. Good luck
  7. If you check the timberwolf section of forum there's been a few people with same problem, I asked the same ? A few months back about a mates chipper, it's still not fixed but as it's not mine am not too concerned. Tried taking all other keys off chipper key made no difference, think the other ideas involved replacing parts. Out of interest is your hydraulic oil level low and how long ago was it changed?
  8. As the title says, pm with details, day rate and contact number please, simon

  14. Hi mate there's a firm in Wheatley currently a climber down. Hows life treating ya
  15. Only 4 company's can sell addwords on google, they ain't one of them, lots of people are trying to sell listings on google, think about it if 10 tree surgeons pay the money who gets the top listing???? If it sounds too good to be true it usually is!!!
  16. I just saved 450 quid by changing my car and truck insurance FROM NFU to another insurer, you would think they could at least try and be competitive. We have to be if we want the work
  17. I don't think the book is used as much since they changed size of it, and judging by discounts there offering on previous years they are struggling for advertisers. They also seem to be changing and promoting yell. Com alot more, wouldn't surprise me if the book disappeared in a year or two, if you have the money spare do it, but I hardly had any return on it this year. Oh and if you do don't forget to put 6 a's in front of your name otherwise you'll be lost on the back page
  18. Email sent, cheers

    birch dilema

I assume it now has lots of long straight stems from previous cuts. Try and remove the larger ones leaving smaller to maintain a canopy and some shape, then prune any back anything that sticks out too far. Or you might find the client likes the butchered look and your decision is one of is the money better in my pocket or someone elses. As the damage is already done I'd say yours
  24. Unlees you have an artic load power stations arnt usually interested in my experience
