  1. Might be too obvious but check spark plug
  2. Thanks for the offer, if exhaust was good I would have been more interested, been quoted £35 for new back handle and told exhaust about £25, will mention it to boss in morning though, thanks again
  3. Hi am looking for a back handle for the afore mentioned saw, as I successfully broke my bosses today, and thought I'd look for an exhaust whilst busy as it makes funny rattling noises, would consider a complete non running saw, thanks for reading
  4. I probably would if the bloke turned round and admitted it was more than 2 years old
  5. Initially £300 but got them down to £225
  6. They have now text to stay they been on stihl site and it's pre 05/06 that have breathers and this is the latest, yeah right
  7. just looked at saw, breather is the old old type, no pipe just the push in hard foam cap, questioned the seller about it and he says it's only 3 years old, condition is one thing, it sounded ok and started fine, and is probably worth the money but if he can't be honest when he's caught out then what else isn't he being honest about
  8. Working out of my area, on trees I haven't seen, for a relative, does it get any worse? Am hoping I don't need to tip but if anyone knows of anywhere nearby that takes chip would be grateful. Thanks
  9. Thanks everyone, gonna look at a second hand one, breather pipe I think Is gonna be a good one to check, person selling it reckons it cost £830 new, which made me chuckle
  10. Is there any way of telling how old one is? Modifications and changes made by stihl differences between early and late models etc cheers
  11. An enterprising bloke up the road from me has a similar sign, I have no problems with the sign, just the chainsaw on a sat and sun morning as cuts the bloody logs
  12. Take the opportunity if it's the only one open to you, but if I was in your situation and someone offered me full time job instead I'd be taking the job, ppe provided, training provided, equipment provided, no one spends time teaching subbies, so if your really happy and confident with your current abilities then go self employed. Oh and if you do don't forget that if you manage to make enough money the tax man still wants his share
  13. Stihl have had these removed from eBay from what I understand, infringement of copyright due to copying of stihl colours, do search on mt9999, bloke couldn't understand what problem was, think that says it all lol
  14. Sub contract climber based in Chesterfield, looking for odd days, whole weeks, long term contracts. 15+ years experience, various nptc's, RFS cert. Arb. All own kit. For more info call Simon, 07961130139, or just message me on here cheers
  15. I occasionally want to get out a tree grab hold of a groundies mobile phone and throw it into the next county, nothing worse than watching the brash pile up whilst ya groundie stands staring at his phone
  16. It's about time we started appealing these decisions, if only to wrap up to's in endless amounts of paperwork plus it might make one or two of them think about some of the ridiculous decisions they make when the appeals find in favour of the client, rant over, back to the lemsip before cracking open a stella
  17. I may have a new baby but you seem to be making a few life changing decisions yourself, self employed, engaged, what's gonna be next lol. Life without sleep is ace, well worth it, you should try it, get up once or twice for half hour at a time and then go to work all day, did try and have a kip in the truck at lunch time though. Where abouts are your private jobs?
  18. If ya pay me enough I'll pop down from Chesterfield lol

  20. I once worked for an Oxfordshire based firm Who did not believe in or tolerate accidents, everything lost or broken was charged to the person found to be responsible, whilst this was extreme as a Subbie I have witnessed many employees who just dont give a damn about company equipment or clients possessions, proves costly, and in my opinion there is no need for it, I feel once is an accident, twice is careless, third time they should pay
  21. Hate to be boring but don't think you can custom your lid, paints and glues can deteriorate the plastic, by all means custom old ones for show
