    Husky 42 problems

    Husky 42 problems

Air leak was my thought, thanks for advice, had plug out today and it showed sign of excessive corrosion and was a cream colour. The owner is not mechanically minded and will take it to local dealer. Who I imagine will tell him it's not a viable repair on an old saw, how much would a repair like this be ?
  4. At mates saw, has just started playing up, starts and runs ok but on releasing throttle it the chain runs on for 20 seconds then cuts out completely. Any help gratefully received
  5. That could work but some very steep slopes on site, and have you got one?
  6. As title says, looking at clearance job need some costs please
  7. As the title says, needed for a clearance job , at pricing stage at minute
  8. Glad you were able yo find him, he can be nice if it means he gets a truck full of logs. Must give you a few pointers in cutting logs, going to take ages for me to saw that lot into anything that can be easily split, can only assume you forgot your spikes, with the amount of pegs left on the logs lol
  9. Bloke I work for has a yard beside the 617 next to hasland junction charges me £15 to tip chip but logs are usually free, when is the job? Am working for him Saturday, will mention it then he can be a bit funny people working his area n stuff, but you won't get anywhere nearer, be warned couple of gypsy sites very nearby.
  10. In an ideal world a client would call and let you know you were unsucesful, the majority don't, half that do say we really liked you and your professionalism but Joe bloggs down the road is a £100 cheaper, can you beat his price. In most cases the you find out by driving past and seeing the work done, usually badly or something completely different to what you quoted for, this is commonly called LIFE and the pleasures of self employment. Be grateful you are actually getting out to quote work, not everyone is as lucky
  11. Hi mate which area of Nottingham are you based?
  12. I gave up last may before the birth of my daughter in august, used the magic pills from chemist, worked really well for me, worked out have save over £1500, how much extra money have I got NONE. don't know how I managed to afford it, could never afford to start again. Good luck
  13. My local dealer has been fantastic, if I walked in with a saw he would see if he could do something with it straight away or would sort it as quickly as poss. I know he can't match others prices, he knows he can't, but by providing this service it does sweeten any purchase. Am sure if I walked in with a new saw with a problem it would join the back of a long queue of saws waiting to be serviced, sharpened or repaired. So when my saw has sat on his shelf for a month and not earnt me a penny, his price now seems even better. As for warranty work yes you can take it to any dealer, but it takes as long as it takes for them to fix
  14. I'm sure the owner of the tree might feel differently, almost beyond words!!!!
  15. Are you still looking for people?
  16. I currently have a client with a tpo'd woodland, she is in the process of devising a woodland management plan, once passed this if I understand correctly, and if am wrong there will be lots of people correcting me, this takes precedence over the tpo, The local tree officer is actually happy for this to happens there are no trees of any real quality and as long as the woodland is maintained he feels his job is done. Get a small mulched for the brambles,
  17. Trimmer/ cutter, we may know the difference and be able to tell which hedge has been cut or trimmed by what but all Joe public cares about is that it's done, done cheaply and you didnt leave a mess, and yes I do know that some clients do care and can tell if it's been done properly. So unless you have very deep pockets and can afford different trimmers for different days of the week then go with a machine that will do the job and look after it, clean it, grease it,maintain it and it will make you money

    which saw

There's a husky 2101 Xp on eBay at min, I have one with a 33 inch bar supposed to have more guts than 660 but also has extra manual oiler, there old but solid machines, think spec says you can run a 5foot bar, scarey
  19. If it's the same model as mine pull out the two triangular shaped pieces at the, then the two at the back and the one in middle at back, straps just unclip. Take photos of straps in situ, I always forget how it goes back, quick spin in washer job done
  20. Are you sure your saw is not covered? I was able to claim for a friends saw stolen from my premises, and when my saw was stolen From someones yard that I was sub contracting they replaced it straight away on insurance no messing
  21. Seem to remember exactly the same scenario with their first top handle, the wonderful 335 xpt, long awaited, delayed release dates and then finally they released a saw that wasn't worth the plastic it was made from, is history repeating itself???
  22. £125 is not reasonable, most hire firms charge about that but if you say it's trade and your setting up a business, as you have stated you are then the price magically comes down by about half, last grinder I hired cost me £55 plus vat for day. HSS have never offered me discount on price though. Oh and make it has sharp teeth when you get it as the smaller machines really do need sharp teeth, or use the fact to barter an even cheaper price, good luck,
