  1. Sub contract climber looking for work, experienced in domestic and commercial tree work, street tree contracts, hedge trimming, crane work. Can provide references. Relevant nptc's and a qualification. Driving license, based in chesterfield but willing to travel. Pm or call 07961130139. Cheers Simon
  2. It's a good job I didn't apply then, the consultant informed the tree officer the trees were going to be removed so no one applied other than that the home owner sought confirmation that he could have the work done
  3. Unsure as to actual phrasing of email but tree officer definitely wants replacements, but if its a condition of removal doesn't it get messy as the trees were declared dangerous
  4. To be honest it's not my job to replant I was paid to remove a dangerous tree, my involvement ended when he settled his bill. what the client does now is up to him
  5. Here's the real question. The trees gone, what can they do?
  6. Independent consultant working for neighbour condemned trees after there tree failed, work carried out on 5 day notice basis and not a tpo application. Email correspondence from tree officer specified replacement with a birch and a sorbus
  7. Having recently removed 2 beech trees after they had been condemned my client is not keen on replanting replacement trees as specified by tree officer. Lookin for people's opinions but I seem to think there is very little the council can do to enforce replanting, in the way of fines? Seem to recall something where a council did something so it caused an issue if a property search was carried out buy a prospective buyer
  8. I do seem to remember a case a number of years ago where a tree surgeon offered a professional opinion that a tree was dangerous and needed to be removed, there was a delay in any works been carried out and the tree fell on the house, the tree surgeon was successfully sued because he failed to carry out the work in a suitable time after stating dangerous. That's what insurance is for
  9. Consultant report states that the trees should be removed due to the presence of meripilus even though the trees currently show no signs of infection
  10. Think he's ok with having them removed as he could fit another 20 camellias in there place, he must have over a hundred already. I just thought it a bit excessive, all trees had tpo's and the consultants recommendation for replacements, 2 birch and 2 Rowan. Of all the trees to replace a group of 70' Beech with
  11. I'm working for the neighbour whose trees haven't fallen over, and the consultant was kind enough to provide him with a copy of his report ( via his neighbour) condemning his trees, which in my opinion left him no option but to fell the trees as he had been made aware of a possible risk, don't get me wrong am grateful for the work but does a consultant normally write reports on neighbours trees without being paid by the tree owner
  12. All 4 trees within a 4 metre square. 2 trees in one garden 2 in another,
  13. Have looked at a job where a beech had failed in the winds earlier in month, leaving 3 other mature beech trees in close proximity. a consultant was called and he condemned all 3 remaining trees even though none showed any signs of meripilus, is this the normal action or could it have been closely monitored and action taken later if a problem arose?
  14. As title says 2 days work, some dragging some standing in road normal days really, pm or cal or textl 07961 130139. Simon
  15. On I phone, and it was actually free on contract after i bartered the price down so didn't pay any middlemen
  16. I'm really sorry to have to point out the obvious but the title of the thread was arbor trolley hire!!!! NOT looking to buy an arbor trolley. The title is at the top of each comment to help. Also as I am the original poster I know exactly what was being asked. Anyway I have managed to source a trolley for the job now. And I will be able to decide for myself the value of one.
  17. It is a debate and welcome to it, I am fully aware of how many people make a profit out of the stein trolley, But as an end user I would prefer to pay the manufacturer of a product a fair price than half a dozen middle men an over inflated price. Obviously the products have to be of a like quality. And I think that a trolley could be a useful addition to certain jobs but is it wrong to look at other options than a stein, I think not
  18. A man has 2 hands so I would expect 2 logs to be carried lol
  19. Have been in touch with TCF trolley is no longer green. It's galvanised. Has been tweaked to improve it from early models and is a damn site cheaper than the blue one plus you can add a tow hitch and flotation tyres to it
  20. Chainsawsnorfolk are a tenner cheaper, anyone anywhere else?
  21. So where's the cheapest place to get one ?
  22. I'm based in chesterfield and would need it for 3 days, tracked barrow would cause too much ground disturbance as its a shared grass path behind terrace houses
  23. Hi does anyone know of anywhere or anyone that does or would be willing to hire an arbor trolley or similiar device as I have a nice little job with a 100 plus metre drag. Cheers in advance for any help
  24. Not just wood chips compost bins are also bad for it, and I think it's one of those things were your fine for years but next time it will kill you, literally, I looked into it after I suffered, scary as hell when you can hardly breathe, sweating buckets and shaking with cold
