  2. I would say 2 to 3 hundred, sounds like an easy day, but most firms will give you a free quote
  3. Where abouts are you, prices can depend alot on area
  4. Hi alot of people would buy it if it works but you could look at marketing to masses rather than just tree surgeons
  5. Is it just me or is anyone else finding the all new easy to use, half the size for the same money Yellowpages far less successful than previous years? Usually with my freelance climbing and Yellowpages advertising I get enough work to fill my weeks. This year I've had next to no jobs from Yellowpages. In the 6 months the books been out dont think I've made the£1000 I spent
  6. If bolton is anything like Chesterfield someone will probably do it for £850 if it's 2 days, and be happy to have the work
  7. Surely if it carries a load it's not a tractor!

  12. Isn't it exspensive to do banksman ticket?
  13. I always felt banksmen are fine on static lifts. the last thing I wanted was a third party on the ground controlling the lift. If he was stood in the tree next to me I would be happier afterall his mistake my life, just don't like sound of that. I know it's an insurance thing but if the crane driver is watching banksman he ain't watching the tree
  14. Glad to here my mate was able to shift your timber for you, hope it made your job easier
  15. Sent my mate a text says he'll have it but will call me tomorrow. He's 5 - 10 mins out of wantage. Will call you with his number tomorrow so you can sort it out
  16. I used to be based in that area, know people who will possibly take it, when do you need to know by and how much timber is there?
  17. What happens when it washes into surrounding area?
  18. Always climb to your abilities and in a way you feel safe, if your a trainee and inexperienced your employer will know that and there should be someone there to advise and not just criticise. Someone once told me it doesn't matter how you do it as long as you do it, it's your life, don't waste it trying to impress others

    Fuel can

Does no one use the orange nordtec fuel cans? Had mine for years. Fuel and oil cells can be bought separately if something untoward happens, some one I work for bought 2 still cans, less than 2 years old and the seams started to leak within a month of each other, could be coinincidence, well that's what the stihl dealer said as he sold him 2 more
  20. Still looking, must be something out there
  21. If its not your tree I'd cram as much stuff as you can in the shed and if the tree does fall get brand new stuff on his insurance lol
  22. Hi, I'm a self employed climber with 17 years experience, due to relocating to chesterfield I am looking for extra work. Can do anything from crane dismantles to conifer hedges. Always work to a high standard and can provide references. All relevant nptc's. Have all own kit plus tidy truck and chipper, any offers would be much appreciated. Thanks
  23. Trunk is still up, had 10 30 foot conifers to top as well, trunk would have been in way if we felled it today, but it's not lookin goog for getting big bits out
  24. What about an arbtalk app?
  25. It wasn't to bad to be honest, would choose it over hawthorn any day. Me £5 pair of thorn resistant gloves from B&Q (am sure other stores sell them aswell lol) did a great job. Yeah I got a few scratches but now more than a day reducing a conifer hedge
