  3. Dont discount the makita range, they are decent saws, just not as popular as stihl and husqy.
  4. Looking at your avatar, i'd say it was meant to look like you. (sorry )
  5. off to catterick to patch up someones house.
  6. without derailing, can i just ask, what is the reasoning behind water ballasting in the tyres and how do you go about it. Just interested thats all. thanks.
  7. mine was an old husqy, dont know what model, its dead and buried now. theres only one colour for me, Makita Blue.
  8. Just watched it. Top man, wish him all the best.
  9. i carnt understand how someone this gormless, has managed to work himself up to enable themselves to afford a brand new tractor, all at the tender age of 22, i mean good luck to the lad splashing out and having the guts to do it and make a go of it, but come on, why revert to being a plank on the side, if he's already had one kicking, i can see plenty more heading his way.
  10. Not planning on cutting myself, and have not got that kind of attitude. Just asking a question that relates to this thread and the type of footwear that i prefer to wear.
  11. out of interest, do you know what type of protection the orange 'wellie' safety boot offers, as these are the only type i wear, due to only doing ground works. cheers.
  12. I had a bad case of man flu 3 weeks ago, it cleared up, only to come back as brochitis last week, knocked hell out of me. Hot lemonade and lemsip and whiskey did the trick for me.
  13. For me, newbies of whatever trade, are too much in a rush to set up their own companies and chase big money instead of gaining experience of all types by working for several companies before going on their own. And for me this is a big downfall. I see it a lot in the joinery trade, young lads on price come in, bish bash bosh, then it all falls down and then old timer here thinks' here we go again', likewise, you ring agency up requesting roofing joiners, ask them to set out a traditional roof and they look at you gone out. Proper apprenticeships and proper training and then working with old timers who are willing to show you how to do it correctly is the way forward in my opinion. But, why wont people just ask advice on the job when they know and you know they are out of their depth is beyond me. There is nothing wrong with ambition, just how you go about it.
  14. whtas the idea behind them, i've seen them in the shops but never seen anyone use them. how do they work.
  15. is that an old subaru pickup, i always wanted one of those, but never got one.
  16. do yourself a web site, and use your own name.
  17. you want to have a word with big j on here, i'm sure he's just gone thru the same thing. Maybe wrong like, but i sure he has.
  18. To me, it sounds like slander, go see a solicitor. Also have words with the paper, he should not be allowed to 'attack' people this way in a local newspaper. Stand up for yourself over this.
  19. But do these races get the tv coverage of oxford and cambridge, and therefore the publicity.
  20. wish my welding looked that neat and tidy.
  21. Will, i understand why you are upset, BUT !, if rowing ( or this race) is so important to so many people, then why does it always have to be between these two. I understand that is how it all started but surely wouldnt it be better if they allowed more teams to compete in the race, therefore allowing more people to experience it and surely it would be more appealing than the 'closed shop' it appears to be.
  22. Couldnt you just weld ( or manufacture ) some bigger teeth onto the existing dean, to enable the jaws to fully close. Or even adding some solid cross members along the tips of the teeth. Just ideas, thats all.
