    Hi welcome to the forum, your probably looking at a ms180, or something, but dont just look at the stihl / husky range, have a look at the makita range as well.

    the other year, i looked after a couple of nursing homes for a doctor until he closed them down. Did building maintainence and gardens for him. I'm kicking myself for not leaflet dropping as i'm surrounded by nursing homes where i live. Might do some early in new year, see how i get on.

    have a look at the makita range, they are a lot cheaper than stihl / husqvarne, but make a good solid saw. But please buy some safety clothing, and look into some sort of training first. Your local college should be able to help.

    have a word with your local collage. I think you will need to start off with PTTLS (prepare to teach lifelong skills), i,m hoping to do this course in january. You may also want to look into doing your NVQ assesor award. You will probably have to get in touch with the NPTC/ lantra guys about teaching with chainsaw as well.

    I dont know what changes are occurring, but there are major changes coming into force on December 4th i believe. But cannot find out what, will just have to keep an eye on the transport mags for any info. The one big change i do know what is happening, is that they are merging the national and international cpc into just one one standard exam.

    I know how you feel, when i was younger i had a lot of work done on my front teeth. Because the work was so badly done, i now have two front teeth missing. Had them taken out to save my jaw bone.

    Hi, at the moment i am setting up my new website selling log stores / gates / etc. But i am having trouble sourcing a reliable courier to provide a delivery service for my products, due to them not being a standard pallet size. This is my first foray into websites and product advertising and so on, so i really dont want to mess it up. Who do you all use, or is there an alternative way of doing things. I have thought about restricting my sales to a radius of say 40 miles, and doing the deliveries myself, but thats seems as tho i would be missing out on potential customers. Any help or ideas are much appreciated.

    No its just supposed to be halloween tonight. Mischeif night is on the 4th of november. Loads of little kids knocking on doors and loads of should know better kids causing havoc. I got home and padlocked the gates shut.

    if i had to give up joinery / manufacturing, i think i'd like to give driving a serious go. At the moment i only drive when woodwork is slack, it was a dream of mine for many years to put my own wagon on the road. Would love a bonnetted scania / volvo stretched into a timber wagon. But that said, hopefully i am starting my teaching courses in january, either way i like to keep my options open.

    Tidy bit of decking that. Please tell me, how do you set your posts out, do you set the posts in post mix the day prior to decking, or do you sit them on slabs. The few decking jobs i've priced for, i've always priced for setting in post mix but people tell me you dont do it like that.
