If anyone could give me some advice as I have been phoning around city and guilds etc and been offered many different courses. I have a small busy tree surgery company which has been operating for about 10 years mainly in the domestic sector. I have recently got my FdSc in Arb from Myerscough (online) and would like eventually to get some part time lecturing work but have been advised to firstly get some experience as an instructor ie teaching basic chainsaw etc. Do any of you do this? What qualifications do you need? Cheers

Any advice would be great... I have a well established 3- 4 man company and we have a good private/domestic customer base. Although we do sporadic jobs for retirement homes and the council, I would really like to get regular contract work. I know that being accredited will help. I have looked in great detail at the companies that accredit. There is no way I could afford the Arb association - the costs are not justifiable. But' tree care approved' and CHAS seem more reasonable. Which do you think is more widely accepted and would help to gain contracts?

Hi, I am based in the Wirral Cheshire and need to book a LOLER assesor in to have my kit assessed. Is there anyone qualified out this way? If there isnt anyone on the forum do you know how to get the information regarding where assesors are based? Cheers Guy

Hi Paul, Thanks for the response. I am very interested in gaining accreditation with the AA. How do I go about it? I am a small contractor - less than 5 employees - but we are very busy doing mainly domestic work but some commercial work. We would like to get more commercial work and I think gaining accreditation would help immensely as well as ensiring we are up to date with health and safety. Thanks Guy

I have a small to medium tree surgery business, mainly domestic work but some commercial work with hotels, retirement homes etc Are there many companies out there who have gone through this process??
