  1. I know nothing of this canal, but having a look it looks similar to the aquaduct?
  2. I guessed it was related to the cut or rail, what canal was this?
  3. Do you know it's original use?
  4. Thats exactly like I would of put it.
  5. Wouldn't that just push the price of houses up?
  6. Ouch!
  7. You're not alone, I had to read it twice before it sank in.
  8. Would that log be a days work with a chainsaw mill?... remember I've no idea about this.
  9. More chance of pissing in the Queens handbag than doing Suffolk to Margate in two hours. Where do you buy these blondes, asking for a friend.
  10. Looking at the title of the thread I'm going to hazard a guess at hardwood.
  11. Shame, I wouldn't mind a few weeks over on the IoW, when the "pox" moves on. I've never been... one day.
  12. Any jobs going?
  13. Don't ever leave a trailer on a job where a machine is sitting. Must be a right miffer though.

    Covid-19

You know, well I think you do, it's an idle threat to send folk to jail for 10 years? It simply won't get through the law. I'm not saying you, but I'm half sure if the government came out n said, "no one can wear a mask in public anymore", there would be a queue of those 'anti maskers" gluing masks to their faces in protest.

    Covid-19

I have to disagree, they are tipsy on power and clueless. They are going to open these quarantine hotels next week yet the like of Premier Inn, and travel lodge bosses have been on the wireless today saying they weren't consulted until last Friday!, the reason for these new fangled hotels are due to the SA/Brazil variant. Well done! The SA variant was detected in the UK 50 days ago, the Brazilian 46 days ago... A tad slow off the mark again if they are going to do it.
  16. What, our man Stubby stirring it?

    Covid-19

Someone who's only crime is feeding the hungry in the middle of a pandemic is arrested yet you don't see the problem? I give up!
  18. Yellow markings (should) show gas, I'm guessing the circle sort things are buried valves of different sorts.
  19. I have to laugh, or I'd cry. Not clapping loud enough!

    Covid-19

It makes me laugh when 'on paper' people are classed as obese, I worked on a ten man gang years ago, we had a wellness check by the company we worked for, 9 out of the ten were obese on paper, right! We were quite a fit bunch of lads. I was the odd one out, I've been 11 n half to 12 stone since I was in my late teens.
  21. For cleaning heavy plant flow wins over pressure every time, running from a tap restricts this. My machine at full tilt uses 32L/minute, an average domestic tap delivers 15L/minute. I'm not saying tap fed washer don't work, but they are laborious.
  22. I'm fairly sure @Rough Hewn would get slabs to your door if the money was right.
  23. Where the Bat Willow is being felled is just along the river Stour from my old place, I think the bat makers is Wrights of Chelmsford.
  24. I don't get why anyone signs their van up, 'fullly insured'. You see the gas n leccy lads vans with gas safe and eic stickers, never seen one with fully insured.
  25. Banked.
