  1. Are you just saying he should check this, like his insurance, or is this how it really works?
  2. I'm sure you realise if it's waste he will need a waste carries license?, that aside I'd take the word of a member here who's been through the courts involving this matter.
  3. I'm not in the industry, but I did have some climbing tuition from a member here who will remain nameless because he was rubbish. You will know him if shows ever open again, he'll have a can of Stella in his hand. Never, ever sit down for an evenings drinking with him, both will end up drunk. hope this helps you to move forward.
  4. My brother worked in Osaka a few years back, one time when he came back we went to a Japanese sushi restaurant down the smoke. First and last time for me.
  5. I would say you can make it work, keeping a part time job to cover the bills is a spot on idea. Does your smallholding make any money?
  6. Nothing would surprise me with you two.
  7. That would depend on what wood he plans to process, to get to his £30k he's going to have to buy in round wood, the first thing he will need is a lot of space to store the timber, get 4 artics in and 100 ton takes up a lot of space. I started with saws, processor, splitter, a tractor to run the processor and a tractor loader to handle the round wood and load the split wood, tractor loader wasn't ideal for handling round wood but I got by with it.
  8. I set up from scratch many years ago, there is money to be made but you'll work for it unless you've got the equipment to handle everything. I lasted four seasons before I jacked it and sold all my gear. There are plenty of easier ways to make money.
  9. I'm just not driven by it, I've got a woman who fixes my technology mess ups. I keep her kids fed, seems like a fair exchange to me.
  10. The clip on the left is me when technology doesn't do as I tell it, quite regularly really.

  13. Try to leave it alone, easier said than done. You have my sympathy.
  14. We don't do arguing here, do one.
  15. Stick with being a freelancer, you are then classed as an employee for insurance purposes. Anyone who tells you any different is wrong.
  16. Rain, I could tell you about rain! East Anglia, the flattest and driest part of the country, yeah, I'll buy part of that.
  17. If you've got any spare send it to down here.
  18. Well done, coffee all over the place.

  20. Funny, but very serious. The lass I kick about with works in the local shop, she tells me the lads who own it run into the wholesalers every day to keep the alcohol stocked. T'was twice a week before this lot started. Did I just ruin the joke thread?
  21. Really?, I wouldn't want you as my brief. If you notice I never get involved with these kind of threads because I know bugger all about them. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are a fool than speak and remove all doubt.
  22. Only one bottle kiln, 2nd picture top left, it's still there. 4th picture Hanley/central forest park slag heap in the background.
  23. Democracy. He knows he's got to do one, or go to jail. He must be shiting himself.
  24. Don't hold back, say it as you see it.
